What we have here is some who created a redirect from the title using a single quotation mark to the title using an apostrophe. Now I have an IP over at AFC/R wanting to create redirects from single quotation marks for a variety of titles, even though (as far as I'm aware) it isn't even possible to type a single quotation mark on a standard keyboard. • Delete- I've personally declined the AFC/R for "Rubik’s Cube" twice over now. Looking at the page for quotation mark#Keyboard layouts, we can see that Typographical quotation marks are almost absent on keyboards, only appearing in complex keystrokes with Alt Gr or ⌥ Opt. <RetroCraft314 /> 16:32, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • I've seen topics where an 'okina or standalone grave accent or such is correct (usually involving transcription from other languages) and replacement by a straight-quote would probably be considered be incorrect, but aside from those, WP:TSC discourages the use of special apostrophe-like characters in article titles, and I'm not aware of any where replacing a curly-apostrophe by a straight quote would be incorrect. Do you have concrete examples?   • Cyrillic A to Latin A is not at all comparable as ' and ´ are part of the same script - "Аdam" (with a Cyrillic first letter and the remainder Latin letters) is always going to be an error, but "Adam's" and "Adam´s" are both equally valid. I've explained elsewhere why MediaWiki treating the characters as identical is a bad thing, and while the search engine finding results for ' when ´ is entered as a search term (and vice versa) would be a good idea this will help only those people who use the internal search engine (which is far from everybody). Note that the terms were removed from the same article you now suggest inserting them into. The statistics suggest that they were heavily looked up here, but only in 2016 (Midquel from Dec-15 to Dec-16 and Interquel from Nov-15 to Feb-17. I believe these two terms to be buzzwords that quickly faded away; although they do have an article at TV tropes. Paraquel gets cinsiderably less than 10 hits per month and is not even listed at TVt; Sidequel is the only one that is consistently searched here more than 100 times per month.
