Suspected sockpuppets

[edit]

I suspect that Exactamente 250 and Mexican in the United States are sockpuppets of MÉXICANO ESTADOUNIDENSE CANADIENSE EUROPEO. Please note that the sockmaster is globally blocked for sockpuppetry and block evasion:

Here is the first edit of MÉXICANO ESTADOUNIDENSE CANADIENSE EUROPEO to the mainspace:

I reverted this edit because it added Schigechiyo Izumi, a debunked longevity claim, to a list of verified supercentenarian cases. What follows is the first edit Exactamente 250 made to the mainspace:

Note that this edit again adds Izumi to a list of verified cases. This time, the user also adds Mathew Beard, another claim that was debunked earlier this year. After the edit is reverted, the user attempts to insert Mathew Beard seven more times across three different longevity pages:

This persistent disruptive editing continued after an explanation by another user as to why Beard should not be on the list and my offer to discuss the issue on the article's talk page:

The user received repeated warnings on their talk page to stop, which were obviously ignored:

Here is Exactamente 250's block log:

The addition of Mathew Beard continues with the new account:

The name of this new account, Mexican in the United States, seems similar to MÉXICANO ESTADOUNIDENSE CANADIENSE EUROPEO, not to mention the overlapping content of their edits.

I hope something can be done about this disruptive user. Thank you for your time. Softmist (talk) 04:17, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reopening this investigation because there are several reasons to suspect "Viceroyalty of New Spain" is a sock of "Viva la independencia."

1. The username. Within the actual Viceroyalty of New Spain is modern-day Mexico. The user has a number of socks that reference Mexico: [1], [2], [3], [4].
2. Editing interests. This user has edited longevity-related articles ([5], [6]), just as previous socks have done ([7]).
3. Editing behaviors. User has a habit of (gradually) deleting warnings on their talk page ([8], [9]), just as previous socks have done ([10], [11]).
4. The IP. It's the same one connected to the other socks and has even edited the talk page of the newest suspected sock multiple times ([12], [13]). Softmist (talk) 21:55, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to have to open this investigation again, but here we are. This IP is already associated with Viva la independencia per previous SPIs[14] and has been blocked for it.[15] The user already has an IP range block,[16] but this specific IP is still active. They continue to make disruptive edits that are linked to the blocked account(s), a clear case of WP:BE:

EDIT: Adding Abigay Peraza Montore as a suspected sock, a brand new account that made an edit[26] to the same page the aforementioned IP did a day earlier, and specifically to the same place in the article. Worth mentioning, the edits concern the oldest living man of Mexico[27][28] (user's interests seem to concern both Mexico and longevity). Also note that both of these edits are mobile web edits, suggesting they could be the same person. Softmist (talk) 05:26, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now adding another account to the suspected sockpuppet list. Weird habit of inserting redlinks to Mexican supercentenarians on Jeanne Calment's article.[29][30][31]

I've added Maurilio Montaño Oliver, whose username is similar to the other two named suspected socks and yet dissimilar from the usernames already used in this farm. In addition, of the three named users, Jorge Duran Coral is the only one who has edited es.wiki and has been blocked as a sock there by LuchoCR, a CheckUser, but without identification of the master.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:07, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, it's pretty obvious that El Cajero 94 is a sock of Crepper (account created just to restore vandalism from Crepper), but before Crepper was blocked they managed to get autoconfirmed since the account was created on the 4th. I do suspect there may be other sleepers. –MJLTalk 18:56, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Same behavior as the previous batch of socks, editing the same group of pages. – Hilst [talk] 17:54, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Account created today vandalizing the same page and in the same way as the previous two socks. Also vandalizing while logged out as 2804:5364:7000:1:1:1:65F8:81F3. – Hilst [talk] 20:35, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are a few accounts that might be sleepers but it's hard to tell. no No comment with respect to IP address(es). Spicy (talk) 04:30, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As pointed out to me by Nohomersryan, there's WP:DUCK evidence that this is the same person in how they edit their user pages and in their death-related edits to pages. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:05, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fusa Tatsumi was recently indeffed for repeated vandalism on articles like Gary Lockwood, Jerry Lewis, and Keir Dullea, all of which the other two have edited in some form to create the exact same hoax, including reverts. If not socking, then meatpuppetry is definitely a possibility here. Requesting CheckUser for connection and sleepers. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 19:38, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
