Description[edit]

A WikiProject Taskforce of either WikiProject Biography and/or WikiProject History to chronicle the deaths and lives of individuals whose legacy became an important part of an ongoing war, revolution, peace or political transition. Neda, Mohamed Bouazizi, Khaled Said, Hamza Al-Khateeb... the goal is to bring these articles up to FA/GA status as examples of coverage which neutrally recaps all significant aspects of their lives, deaths, and the ongoing impact of each. Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
These articles are unparalleled in their combination of political significance and human interest. Biographically, they are about lives cut shot prematurely and often brutally. Historically they are the catalysts of revolutions. As the public faces of chaotic political situations, these articles represent for many readers the identity of the political change and the country itself. To honor the victims on Wikipedia is to neutrally, verifiably catalog their lives and deaths and the multifaceted consequences of the each family and country's loss.

  5. Yes. I did nothing but eat, sleep, and change from one cable news program to another during those months. Now there is nothing. The human aspect of things is best shown with individual stories. Let's get it all back in the world's attention and keep the pressure on for permanent meaningful change there by "using Wikipedia by improving Wikipedia" with these articles. Maybe add a Persian Gulfer, a Yemeni, a Saudi, and a Syrian to the list? What ever happened to the Lybian rape victim? PPdd (talk) 01:07, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    Careful with one part. We can want permanent meaningful change, but have to stay in the role of cataloging it after it has happened, with thorough, current, informative articles, of course. Also, Yemen and Syria are not quiet by any means. And Egypt is just moving into a new phase of reconstruction and repercussions. Any ideas you have for more articles is great!   1. The prospect of sucha notable political taskforce certainly interests me. Though i mudst caution the possibility of pov/notaility which would only be more cretified as a designated PROJECTED let alone task force.
