Hello and welcome to WikiProject Women in Red (WiR) whose objective is to turn redlinks into blue ones. Our project's scope is women's biographies and women's works. Did you know that according to WHGI only 17.64% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women? Not impressed? Content gender gap is a form of systemic bias, and this is what WiR addresses. We invite you to participate whenever you like in whatever way suits you and your schedule. Women in Red warmly welcomes you!

In May 2018, Women in Red is focusing on villains! Anyone can take part in this event. We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies and other articles about women who are criminals, scoundrels, rogues, miscreants, and evildoers, both real and fictional. This virtual editathon allows enthusiasts from around the globe to participate in our initiative. See below for lists of red-linked women who have been history's villains. You are of course also welcome to add articles on any other notable women who deserve to be covered.

The main goals of the event are:

What else?

Redlists (lists of redlinked articles to be created)

  • Crowd-sourced list:
  • Wikidata lists:

Add other red links here, if possible with a source:
