Zhou Ye (Chinese: 周也; born May 20, 1998) is a Chinese actress. She is best known for her roles as Wei Lai in the film Better Days, Gu Xiang in the drama Word of Honor, Yan Hui in the drama Back From The Brink and Hua Qian in the drama Scent of Time.
Zhou Ye was born in Chongqing, China in 1998. When she was five years old, she moved to Huizhou, Guangdong where she attended Hua Luogeng Middle School.[1]
She entered the IELTS class of the International Department in her first year of high school, chose liberal arts in her second year, and transferred to the media class in her third year. In 2016, Zhou took the Unified Entrance Examination for Art Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities as well as the National College Entrance Examination. With a national ranking of 36, she was admitted to Beijing Film Academy[1][2] and became the first student from Huizhou to be enrolled in the school.[3]
In 2017, Zhou starred in the film's first film work "Beyond Belief".[4]
In 2019, Zhou made her debut in the youth drama film Better Days, earning recognition for her antagonist role as a bully.[5] She was nominated for the Most Promising Actress award at the China Movie Channel (CCTV-6) M List.[6] She participated in the opening ceremony of the 28th Golden Rooster Awards and was included as one of the 32 actors in the China Movie Channel Young Actors Project.[7][8]
In 2021, starred in the movie "Flaming Cloud".[9] On February 22, starring in the costume martial arts TV series "Word of Honor" aired.[10] On May 4, starred in the revolutionary historical drama "The Cradle".[11] On June 21, the starring youth school drama "Reset in July" aired. On July 1, the historical drama film "1921" he starred in was released.[12][13] On August 14, starred in the costume romance drama "Back From the Brink".[14] On November 19, the anti-Japanese war movie "Railway Heroes" starring in the film was released nationwide.[15]
In 2023, the starring fantasy love movie "Yesterday Once More" will be released nationwide.[16] On April 23, starring in the youth inspirational period drama "The National Southwest Associated University And Us" aired.[17] On May 9, starring in the costume fantasy romance drama "Back From The Brink" aired.
On July 11, 2020, guest interviews participated in the recording of the game variety show "Happy Camp" summer special project "Stand Firm" was broadcast on Hunan Satellite TV, she starred in the inspirational movie "Chinese Doctor" adapted from An inspirational movie based on real events in the fight against the COVID-19,The film will be released nationwide on July 9, 2021.[18][19]
On February 22, 2021, the costume sword-play drama "Word of Honor" starring Gong Jun and Ma Wenyuan was broadcast on Youku, and Zhou Ye played the weird little girl witch Gu Xiang in the play.[10] On May 4, the revolutionary historical drama "The Cradle" co-starring with Hai Qing started broadcasting. In the play, she plays Tang Susu, a childcare worker who abandons fine clothes and food and grows up with many children.[20][21] On May 13, as a "resident" of Taohuawu, She joined Tencent Video Variety Show "Wonderland".[22] On May 14, the fourth episode of Zhejiang TelevisionTV's variety show "Keep Running 5" that participated in the recording was aired.[23] On June 12, won the 2021 Weibo movie night 2021 Award.[24] On June 21, the youth school drama "Reset in July" starring in it was launched on Tencent Video. On July 1, the historical drama film "1921" Celebrations of the 100th Anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party was released, and Zhou Ye played Yang Kaihui in the film.[25] On July 30, the franchised business experience variety show "Chinese Restaurant 5" was broadcast on Hunan Satellite TV[26]
On January 19, 2022, Zhou Ye and Zhang Hanyu co-starred in the anti-Japanese war movie "Railway Heroes", in which Zhou Ye played a nurse Zhuang Yan.[27] On January 26, Zhou also collaborated with Xiao Shunyao, Jiang Yiqiao and Hou Minghao at the Hunan Satellite TV 2022 Spring Festival Gala to sing the opening song "Fu Hu Yao Qing Chun"[28] On April 22, the seventh episode of Zhejiang Satellite TV's variety show "Ace vs Ace 7" aired.[29] On September 16, the urban romance drama "Love Me, Love Your Voice" co-starring with Tan Jianci was officially launched.[30]
On January 22, 2023, to participate in the "2023 Dragon TV Spring Festival Gala", Zhou Ye cooperated with Wang Anyu to sing the song "Give You a Bottle of Magic Potion"[31] On March 23, the starring urban emotional drama "Falling in Love" officially announced the starring role.[32] On April 23, starring in the youth inspirational historical drama "The National Southwest Associated University And Us" aired, playing the role of Lin Huajun, the school flower of the Chinese Department of Peking University.[33] On April 28, the starring fantasy love movie "Yesterday Once More" was released, in which she played Han Shuyan.[34] On May 9, the costume fantasy fairy tale drama "Back From the Brink" starring Hou Minghao was broadcast, and Zhou also played Yanhui in the drama.[35] On September 9, the fantasy romantic love fairy tale movie "Flaming Cloud" starring in the film was released nationwide.[36]
In July 2021, Zhou Ye donated 200,000 yuan for the heavy rain disaster in Henan.[37]
