Hi, Recently you are reverting my edits in Draft: Tiruchirappalli metropolitan area, that I have nominated for deletion. I nominated this article for speedy deletion because the main Article is also available Tiruchirappalli metropolitan area, there is no need to have a draft with a exact name and content, hope you can understand can I nominate again for deletion? Ram Dhaneesh (talk) 08:18, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, and I've deleted, but next time please specify the actual reason; G2 obviously did not apply. Materialscientist (talk) 08:22, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you,Ram Dhaneesh (talk) 08:24, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Syntechno

Hello Materialscientist, You deleted the article Draft:Syntechno (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) on the due to the 'G11'. This was the second version, which I completely rewrote in order to remove all signs of advertising, and added only the facts in an encyclopedic way. This article was written in exactly the same way as other companies from the list of laboratory diamond manufacturers (example , Apollo Diamond Gemesis Scio Diamond Technology Corporation ) and it seems to me that the removal of the only large company from Russia looks at least strange. It is made according to the same encyclopedic templates as other articles (despite the fact that in other articles there are much more advertising texts). I am not exaggerating its importance, but this company is one of the largest in the country and the only public company in Russia supported by the government (as indicated in 9 authoritative sources). Could you explain exactly what things seemed to you to be advertising, and whether it is necessary to create a new version? Best regards, Igor erferger (talk) 10:40, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Materialscientist, I created a page for Alturki Holdings for the first time. It's not advertising as it's mentioned in the reason. This is a well known Holding Company in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and hence I created a page for it after researching it well. Mufaddalboxon (talk) 11:31, 14 August 2021 (UTC) Mufaddal[reply]

Basilico's

??? Confused what happened/is happening... Why did you delete the talk page and not the main page (not that I want you to but was there really some "unambiguous advertising" there that someone else placed? Couldn't that particular revision just be removed without having to delete the whole talk page. And there's still a speedy tag on the article.) Very confused... Ps https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Did_you_know_nominations/Basilico%27s 🤦‍♂️Kingoflettuce (talk) 12:26, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IP's sole contribution has been to speedy the article. Anti anti vaxxer?!🤣 Kingoflettuce (talk) 12:28, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I dunno about the IP's motivation, but generally I'm reluctant to delete an article based on IP's tag. Not that there's any policy that pevents an IP from speedy tagging an article ... In any event, I declined the G11 tag. I did not restore the Talk page because I didn't want to undo Materialscientist's action without understanding more about what happened, but there is a DYK going on, and unless the article is deleted, the record of that DYK should be allowed to remain on the article's Talk page, not that I'm really familiar with the DYK process.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:51, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Restaurant articles almost always balance on the edge of deletion, as promos or due lack of notability. This one is well written, so I didn't delete it and left for a 2nd look. Talk page deletion was an error that I've fixed. Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 14:08, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I sort of realised that about restaurant articles--tough to toe the line. Thanks for the compliment though, I do what I can :) Kingoflettuce (talk) 06:35, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This may be a strange request-comment. I saw this article, and thought that it didn't satisfy biographical notability, and was working on an AFD. It was a poorly written stub, and an article should speak for itself, which this one did not. However, I was then checking the references by Google Translate. What I found is that two of them state that he received an award for a short film. I don't think that it looks like a major award, so I don't think that it satisfies notability. At about this point another reviewer tagged it for G7, and then you deleted it as G7. I disagree with G7, although I think it should be deleted at AFD. I think that the film award is a credible claim of significance, except that his flack doesn't know how to write a decent stub that will pass the credible claim of significance bar. So should it be restored only to go to AFD? Robert McClenon (talk) 19:25, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please help get back my draft content

You deleted my early draft work while I am in the process of editing it. Please help show me where is the log so that I can save an off-line copy of my work. Thanks. It was here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:PDS6502/sandbox

User:PDS6502 - Admins never restore copyvio. And you know where you copied it from. Put it in your own words before you put it in your sandbox. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:24, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

These were my own words. Actually, my Dad's own words and my own typing through dictation (Dad has glaucoma and can hardly see to use computer anymore). We did not copy any of this original material from anywhere, we were creating draft in place, on the fly, in the sandbox, with hope of comradely collaboration to help us wiki editing novices. Surely would have been nice for a warmer reception for us newbies. Feel so hurt and saddened with the reception we've since received.

Hi, where is my draft please? speedy for what? i want to contest the nomination but where is the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion"? this is very unfair and I do not understand why you did this. ברטוביניו (talk) 07:19, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance needed

Good morning,

Hope you are well.

I don't understand why the page Ritamendozag had been deleted, it was a draft that I was working on it. This contest is about nonprofit foundation information, with the intention to let the public know about its existence, not to intent to promote or sell anything. I am not sure if the problem was that I created a Spanish language version of it or it's something else. All the content is original.

Can you please let me know how I can fix this situation?

Best Rigards

Deleted page Jay Prakash

Hi, you have just deleted page Jay Prakash for (A7: Article about a real person, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject) reason. page was a tag with 'under construction' and I was expanding the article. Jay Prakash has received the Wikimedians of the Year 'Tech Innovator' award for the year 2021[1] today and I can also see other award recipient pages, can you please help me to understand why this 'A7' is applicable to Jay Prakash page only?, Thanks -Suyash Dwivedi (talk) 19:10, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A1 and A7

Could you please explain your deletion of Kinta Utara (federal constituency) per A1 and A7? I am struggling to see how the page fit under either of the criteria, given that there was sufficient context and a constituency is not a "real person, individual animal, commercial or non-commercial organization, web content, or organized event". It was a bad article, no question about it. But it did not fit those criteria and did not deserve to be speedily deleted. If another criterion applied, please point to those criteria. Sdrqaz (talk) 23:22, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Look, it was a 7-word article, with no references, a possible hoax created by a sock (puppet or master) on a defunct federal constituency. What do you want to do with it? Materialscientist (talk) 04:40, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not use the wrong criteria? You're far more experienced than me: if it was sufficiently blatant G3 could have been used (though not in this instance) and G5 could have been used if it was in violation of a ban/block (I didn't make a note of who wrote it, so can't be sure). A PROD would probably have been appropriate, but A1 and A7 were not. Sdrqaz (talk) 14:59, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

/32 block?

I just blocked 120.29.97.74, but I see you previously blocked 120.29.97.74/32. Did you specifically include the /32 for some reason? If nothing else, it seems to be confusing the "Strike out usernames that have been blocked" gadget. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:07, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is an annoying bug in Wiki software, which is being resolved: we can't block an IP if it is autoblocked (due to a block on an account that edited from that IP). Adding /32 is a temporal solution. Materialscientist (talk) 14:32, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I remember seeing that. I even opened T288587 on it :-) I just didn't connect that the /32 was the workaround. Oh, but wait. I did manage to block it without the /32. Maybe that just means the autoblock expired by the time I got to it? My brain hurts. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:34, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just updated T287798 with some of this. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:45, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Blui Draft

Hi, you deleted my article Blui. I believe this was wrong and here is the evidence to support it. Blui is the mascot for the startup company ReMeLife. You can find evidence of the companies existence on remelife.io, remelife.com and remindmecare.com. On remelife.io you can see Blui flying in his spaceship at the bottom.

I believe that is enough proof that he is a part of the company but just incase I will continue with more evidence. There are three videos on the remelife youtube channel that he is a part of. The first is a video showing his journey that can he found here. The second is him landing, and can be found here. The third is him popping up at the end of a meet the team video that can be found here.

My final pieces of evidence are from the remelife subreddit which can be found here. As you can see, Blui is at the forefront of the subreddit with him being included on the banner. Him in his spaceship is also the profile picture of the subreddit. You can also find multiple posts that he is a part of. The first being a link to one of the YouTube videos, which you can find here. Another is, again, a link to a youtube video that Blui was in, which can be found here.

My only other point is that perhaps you thought that I was trying to pass of Blui as a real alien but in the first line I clarify that he is a fictional alien and the mascot for remelife. If you want that to be clearer then please let me know how you want it to be disclosed

Thanks!

Speedy deletion of Arturo Calle

I noticed you deleted a stub I had created about Arturo Calle. I created the article with two facts aiming to demonstrate his notability backed by two independent good references. I would like to continue to develop the article, please let me know what you think would address the concern and undelete the article. Do you have concern over the notability of the subject or is it that you think it needs more content to satisfy NPOV? Alan.ca (talk) 13:10, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored your article at User:Alan.ca/Arturo Calle. Notability aside, it was written in an unencyclopedic, promotional tone. Materialscientist (talk) 13:24, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It’s a difficult situation when you want to make a small start on a BLP, I assumed the primary point was to highlight why the person is notable. I am not sure what I am going to do if all the sources on the man are positive. Can you give me some guidance on what I need to make an acceptable small stub about him? I have no need to promote the man, just found out he is a notable person in Colombia and wanted to help out by getting an article started about him. Alan.ca (talk) 20:13, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion Request for Draft:Ebstar (Zimbabwean DJ)

Hi. I recently created a draft about Ebstar [1] who is a DJ at Spinnin Records sublabel and it was speedily deleted with the reasons being its promotional stuff. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ebstar_(Zimbabwean_DJ) There were over 12 citations and references here and I kindly ask for a review as I didn't intentionally promote this fellow,,, i simply cited official sources such as Genius & Spinnin Records as well as Apple Music for the discograhy. Please kindly point out where its promotional because i wrote this with transparency for a client, quoting and citing proven sources. You can put the article back in the draft space and i edit it again (after you clearly state where this is promotional so i remove. Facts are facts but i am willingly to conform the article to your requirements. I'm willing to ensure transparency and getting this page up for my client. I would like to give you a heads up that Twistedriott has been Disruptive Editing in these article- List of WWE Raw Women's Champions, WWE Raw Women's Championship, List of WWE SmackDown Women's Champions, Roadblock: End of the Line, Hell in a Cell (2016) and Hell in a Cell (2017). It appears that Twistedriott ignores warnings and continues to do the same thing every day, I had enough of Twistedriott's Disruptive Editing, if Twistedriott continues to do it after being blocked and once the block expires I'm sure that 100% sure that Twistedriott will come back and do the same thing over and over every day. Hello, Materialscientist,

You recently deleted this as a CSD G13 but it was not eligible yet for this deletion criteria. Please, with any draft or user page tagged G13, check the edit history of the page to ensure that it hasn't been edited by a human editor in the past six months. Some new editors assume any draft can be deleted with a G13 tag but if the page has been recently edited by a human being (since, well, February 19, 2021), it is not eligible for deletion under this criteria. G7 of the Userbox MfD

Hi MaterialsScientist,

I object to your deletion of Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Userboxes/Politics/Ideology. I gave that some consideration, and the withdrawal is worth recording, and G7 did not apply. Please restore it. SmokeyJoe (talk) 14:41, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Materialscientist, hello? SmokeyJoe (talk) 13:41, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I object to your objection. No, really, MarshallKe had a reason to delete that page; start your own if you wish to continue. Materialscientist (talk) 14:15, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What was MarshallKe’s reason? And then, in any case, it was not G7 eligible (“the only substantial content of the page was added by its author” was not true). He was in a position to Withdraw and request a speedy close, not to remove all history of the discussion. These “delete all non-project-focused userboxes” MfDs are a developing trend, and the discussion in that MfD was meaningful. So please, reverse the improper G7 deletion. SmokeyJoe (talk) 14:37, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Materialscientist (talk) 14:47, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Do you want to close it? Or courtesy blank it? SmokeyJoe (talk) 14:52, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I read MarshallKe’s last post to it, and think courtesy blank. Personally, I don’t know where the community is going with this, but it may be somewhere. SmokeyJoe (talk) 14:58, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, original author of the MfD here. The reason it should be deleted is because it is proposing deletion of the wrong page (also I don't know how to properly propose deletion of a bunch of items at the same time, which is the goal). I would like someone more knowledgeable than me to re-create the MfD or whatever post is appropriate and to delete this malformed MfD. MarshallKe (talk) 16:19, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give a reason for this revert? The editor who added the material (BananaPlant9999) has expressed confusion since no reason was given. Article: Atul Raghav

Hi,Materialscientist (talk · contribs). The article Atul Raghav should not be deleted. Kindly revert the edit and undelete the article. I know the fact, this page was made by some other user and was deleted earlier due to lack of independent sources because it's hard and takes a lot to show a 16 year old notable and significant personality. Taekwondo is not much highlighted in India but this boy has achieved a lot and is very well known for his game in our nation. Infact, the result of his matches and news coverage are there on internet. Instead of deletion, you can site this article to improve it further but this page should not be speedily deleted.--Divineplus (talk) 17:33, 24 August 2021 (UTC).[reply]

I want that you know that. I talked before i posted it to @Girth_Summit and it was all fine. Helped me out 96% of writing the texts.

So i really don't know what made you think its a advertisment.

Please put it back. Thank you, have a nice day!

Erroneous G3 deletion

English subtitles for the 20-second sample of Freakum Dress by Beyonce (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

You erroneously deleted this page per G3 after someone else had tagged it, but it should have been moved back to TimedText:Beyonce_FreakumDress.ogg.en.srt, from which it was moved erroneously by the creator. This was a plausible good-faith attempt to provide subtitles to this audio file. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 01:52, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The block was for 10 years, but Wiki software changes it according to some calendar, hence 9 years, 364 days, 19 hours, 37 minutes and 12 seconds. Materialscientist (talk) 06:00, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Objection to page removal

Hi MaterialsScientist,

I object to your deletion of https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:StartLife. Many pages on wikipedia concern information about organizations, both commercial and non-profit. I see organizations similar to StartLife with a wikipedia page, including Y Combinator and HighTechXL. I was writing the page in the same line as Y Combinator. Deletion of this page seems highly random if not discriminative. Please restore the page. Thanks (Brammos (talk) 13:45, 26 August 2021 (UTC))[reply]

B. Riley Financial

Hi Materialscientist, I see that you deleted B. Riley Financial for G11. I tried to follow Wikipedia's guidelines about tone and neutrality carefully, and I am at a loss to identify what from the draft was problematic. How can I see some examples of what was wrong? I am not asking for general guidelines about G11, but for examples from the B. Riley draft. As an administrator, can you help? Thank you. WalksInWelcome (talk) 14:03, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Doug Mockett page

Hi, i saw there was a 'speedy deletion' of this page i just created. Reason said it was promotional use. I'm not sure what's deemed as promotion here. It's my page. I was just adding it to wikipedia here. How can I get it put back or put back to some specified guideline? 24.43.81.166 (talk) 19:24, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My two cents. First, it's not your page. If you were writing this for the Encyclopedia Britannica, you'd have to submit it to be reviewed by their editorial staff, where they'd either accept, reject, or edit it to suit their needs. If they accept, you'd get paid for it, and they would own it to do with as they please. The only difference here is that nobody is getting paid. Everything you write belongs to Wikipedia. This is why WP:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing exists.
Your company has to pass our WP:Notability guidelines. This means it needs to be written about in multiple WP:Reliable sources that are WP:Verifiable. We write articles in a very formal style with an impassionate tone and a WP:Neutral point of view. While I cannot see the article anymore, things deemed as promotional generally read like advertisements or company brochures rather than encyclopedia articles. The question I would ask is, "Why do you want to create this article?" is it to provide people with a good amount of info about a widely known and talked-about company, such as General Electric, EG&G, or Wal-Mart, or is it to let people know about a company that isn't very well known? That's a rhetorical question, but if the answer is more along the lines of the latter, then the article is promotion.
There is a lot to know about encyclopedic writing and Wikipedia policy and guidelines before you write your first article. My advice is to go to WP:Articles for creation and submit your draft there. Also, please look at our WP:Conflict of interest policy. (Not that you have one, but people rarely just go around creating articles about unknown companies (if this is one) so it begs the question.) Zaereth (talk) 19:59, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is what I don't understand though. I made it in this ones image because we follow the same format: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Cup_of_Jo so i'm assuming once i give links from references from other sites that link to us(the one thing i didn't do), that makes it legit? Because other than that, there was nothing different here. Thus my confusion.24.43.81.166 (talk) 20:55, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That I don't know. I'd need to be able to see the article to give any assessment, I just have Mat's talk page on my watchlist, and try to help out from time to time, because they're usually very busy. Unfortunately, I won't have time myself to look any further. What I can say is that someone thought it was promotional-sounding enough to tag it, and Mat saw fit to delete it on those grounds. Having no reliable sources referenced would be a plenty valid reason to speedy delete.
The "A Cup of Jo Jo" article seems fairly well written, but in my personal opinion it gives very little info about the actual blog, and if it came up for deletion I would probably vote "yes" as it exists in its current state. An article shouldn't end up becoming a psudo-biography, and either way, there should be enough info out there to create a decent, well-rounded article about any subject. Fortunately for you, I don't watch the deletion pages, and a lot of other Wikipedians tend to think this is sufficient. If you can convince Mat that the article should be undeleted and that you plan on improving it, then there's always a possibility it could get moved to draft space, but that's up to them. I advise not trying to recreate it unless you plan on going through the AFC process so you can get all the feedback you need before transferring it to main article-space. Keep in mind that most companies are not notable, although I don't know about this one. (I've never heard of them.) I hope that helps, and good luck. You recently deleted the page for this subject citing it was a dup of Muhammad Madni Ashraf Ashrafi Al-Jilani, which is puzzling. Professor Syed Hasan Askari (https://www.professorsyedhasanaskari.com/biography ) and Muhammad Madni Ashraf Ashrafi Al Jilani (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Madni_Ashraf_Ashrafi_Al-Jilani) are two different individuals with no similarities as per their biographies on official website, Sufinama and Wikipedia. Prof. Askari was born in 1901 in Bihar, India while the other one in Utter Pradash, India in 1938. Their photographs are different. One is a historian of medieval India while the later is a religious scholar. Draft:Kuwait Vision 2035

Hello Materialscientist. Could you please reconsider the deletion of this draft? Several editors have contributed, so I don't think G7 applies.

Also, the nominator has moved the article to their sandbox and I suspect that they will try to re-publish the article at some stage. It would be preferable that the working version of the article is this draft, because of attribution and the history of previous reviews. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 08:29, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the author and sole contributor of the draft article using my main account User:Insomniaingest and IP address 80.7.63.144 therefore G7 definitely applies in this case as 99.9% of the article's edits are solely my own contributions. It's my work. Your suspicions and accusations are not relevant to G7 (official Wikipedia policy). Additionally, I removed the draft from my sandbox as I'm not interested in Wikipedia anymore and I already linked the article's Wikipedia Arabic version. Regards, Insomniaingest 08:37, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, Materialscientist. Insomniaingest (talk) 08:45, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for considering this. If there are no plans to re-publish this article, then there's no issue here. (For the record, there were other contributors to the draft aside from Insomniaingest and the IP address) Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 09:02, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The sole other contributor User: Aboodi2007192 was merely copy-pasting my work from other Wikipedia articles. There was no original content by this contributor in the draft article; he was copy-pasting my work. I reverted his copy-paste contributions on the basis that my work was considered promotional/advertising per the AfC reviewer's comments. Insomniaingest (talk) 10:22, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day Materialscientist. The page Umu Obiligbo was tagged for speedily deleting and before I could get to the notification, it was already deleted by you. There was nothing I could have done. Hello @Materialscientist

I am sorry if my edit was unhelpful, but do you mind explaining why? At least if you left an edit summary along with your reversion, I could possibly learn something.

Anyway, there is still a link that needs disambiguation, now that inoculum has been restored, and if Propagule: "In disease biology, pathogens are said to generate infectious propagules, the units that transmit a disease. These can refer to bacteria, viruses, fungi, or protists, and can be contained within host material. For instance, for influenza, the infectious propagules are carried in droplets of host saliva or mucus that are expelled during coughing or sneezing." is not suitable, could you suggest what would be, from this list, please?

Many thanks. 49.177.6.159 (talk) 15:05, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Citing

Hello @Materialscientist:, the information about Brian Kenny (sportscaster) wife is already cited under personal life. I didn't add any unsourced info. Same with my edits at Rezendeevil, i added citations there as well. But you removed my edits saying I didn't cite anything, which I did. Hope it's ok for me to add them back. Hi there, I've just contacted you regarding the deletion of an article I had written. I'm hoping to get some feedback on how the article can be re-submitted, as the original was deleted due to 'Unambigous Advertising'. I thought I had done all I could to avoid any hint of this, so would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Help:WikiProjects

I see that you speedily deleted Help:WikiProjects under WP:G14. Since the page title doesn't end in "(disambiguation)", I can only presume that this is because it was considered one of the "disambiguation pages that disambiguate zero extant Wikipedia pages". I can't see the page anymore, but I don't believe that this was always the case, and imagine that reverting to a previous revision would make the page ineligible for speedy deletion. Can you restore the page so we can discuss it and nominate it for a deletion discussion if necessary? Daask (talk) 14:17, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A question about a block

You have blocked Glvckk for what looks to me like one trivial vandalism edit. Is there something I don't know about, such as some meaning to what the editor posted which made it grossly offensive? JBW (talk) 19:23, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Inquiry into hoaxes you recently deleted

Hello again. I was wondering if there were any other users who edited the pages that were deleted at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Assistance_with_going_through_potential_hoaxes_in_stale_userspace_drafts. If so, I think they should be checked that they are not making hoaxes as well. I'm interested in any deleted page that both these two users made, including the non-football ones. So far, I found this user who edited at least one userpage that is a hoax. As I am not an admin, I cannot verify myself that there's no other users editing these pages besides the 3 of them. Thanks! --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 23:12, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New Content for page

I understand the reason the page below was blocked. New to wikipedia and using the sandbox for creating and editing. Did not realize that it would submit the draft before I was ready. I have brand new content, written in my own words with references. Are you able to unblock the page or do I need to create a new one. Appreciate the help. 06:52, 30 July 2021 Materialscientist talk contribs deleted page User:SCI8586/sandbox (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of https://srcbiosciences.com/about/dr-moutons-biosketch) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SCI8586 (talkcontribs) 22:32, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article recreated under new name?

Hi, I don't normally deal with things like this so I'm not sure if there's a proper venue, but a new page for Ali mansour was created two days ago. You had deleted the "correctly named" version of the article in July, noting it was created by a globally-banned sock, which is why I'm pinging you. The article doesn't look eligible for speedy deletion for me, so perhaps it should be moved to the "correct" name (and nommed at AfD if appropriate?). Page Restoration

On 8 August 2021, the page "The Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers" was deleted due to code A10 (subject already on file). Respectfully, I would like my page restored. The information I wrote up as unique, and it would be a big burden for me to have to recreate it. The page that you quoted as relevant lists the titles of 85 federalist papers, but does not define each. My page defines each one, and it will define all 85 antifederalist papers. I have learned to use the sandbox to create writeups, and if this page can be returned there, it would be greatly appreciated. I will combine the finished product with "The Federalist Papers" or provide a link to the page at the top, so that it won't be an orphan. Thank you.

Deleted draft for Monarch (TV Series) in early September 2021

The TV series is currently in production with premiere dates, short description and information about the cast available. I was creating a page for the series based on the new information available but didn't yet publish it when I saw the information about an earlier draft being deleted by you. I'm a noob, so could you please advice if I should submit the page (it has sources etc.) for a review. Thank you. Finney13s (talk) 11:51, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What's the procedure when a new entry for a person overtakes an older one in notability?

Hi! Hope you're well... I think we talked back in Zika days, or something ;) Once upon a time, apparently, there was an athlete named Trevor Bedford. There is also now a virologist, Trevor Bedford (virologist). It seems like they should be flipped, with the virologist and now MacArthur Grant winner as the Primary Topic and the athlete as the one with parens. I poked around for a while and wasn't really sure what the right procedure is. Any suggestions? Chris vLS (talk) 02:16, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated and persistent reversion

All my many recent attempts to improve the article List of aqueous ions by element are being reverted, without any discussion. Firstly by user:DePiep and more recently by User:YBG. The reasons stated for the reversions are spurious. In particular, YBG appears to think that edits need to be discussed before making them live.

The disagreements are all about layout! I wrote the the itntroduction and it has remained untouched by other editors. I have also checked the entry for every element against cited sources in my possession, also without any dissent. My last attempt can be seen in my sandbox. Petergans (talk) 14:55, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My perspective is a bit different from Petergans's, specifically:
"Repeated and persistent restoration of disputed edits without consensus" - and in at least one aspect "contrary to consensus".
Contrary to what PG says without any discussion, I have initiated several discussions on the talk page, but PG has been silent in most if not all of them. I have even added a section in the talk page to catalog the consensuses already reached, and invited others to correct me if I have misrepresented any of these things. I am not sure how I could have been more actively involved in facilitating discussion.
Also contrary to what PG says, I believe that edits do NOT need to be discussed before being made. For example, when PG rewrote the introductory material in a way removed the explanations designed to help the layman understand the content of the article, I recognized the issue, but realized that the best way was not to revert, but to improve the content by merging the original layman-oriented material with PG's more recent material that was considerably less accessible. Alas, I have not had the time to do this, but it is still an area where I hope to improve the article.
However, I DO believe that when a bold edit has been reverted, it is necessary to reach a consensus before restoring the bold edit, and the author of that bold edit should ensure that a consensus is reached before restoring the disputed edit. After PG's edit was reverted, no consensus was reached, so those changes should not have been restored. All of this is according to the well-established bold-revert-discuss cycle, which I believe is a useful guideline for collaboration at WP.
I sincerely hope that PG will actively engage with the discussions I have initiated on the article's talk page so that PG's opinions will be taken into consideration as page editors decide the best presentation format. I assume that in the future, PG will wait for page editors to reach a consensus before restoring disputed edits, and also abide by the consensuses reached.
YBG (talk) 21:13, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My most recent edits were reverted without discussion. Petergans (talk) 10:04, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Petergans's most recent edit, which changed special:permalink/1048031546 § List to special:permalink/1048110525 § Hydrolysis products of the elements, included these two features (among others):
  1. removing the anions from the main table and placing them in a separate table
Petergans was free to boldly make this edit, but I was also free to revert it. Under the WP:BRD cycle guidelines, discussion follows revert, it does not come before and a consensus needs to be reached before restoring the disputed edit. I started a discussion on the talk page at § Separating anions), pinged the top 10 editors of the article and talk page (14 editors in all), and seven of these editors agree that the anions should be in the main table. No one has voiced any support for separating the anions. Petergans did not participate in the discussion.
  2. removing all oxidation states from the main table.
A consensus had previously been reached and documented in archive 1 at §§ Conclusions re "Table changes" and Oxidation numbers to include the oxidation states on every row in the table. Petergans participated in one of these discussions, but every other discussion participant disagreed with him. The consensus having been reached, Petergans was free to begin a new discussion to seek a different consensus, but failing that, should have followed the established consensus.
For ease of reference, I have created a list of consensuses reached and under discussion at the top of Talk:List of aqueous ions by element. I encourage Petergans to follow those that have been established, participate in the current discussions, and start a new discussion thread to change any of them. YBG (talk) 15:44, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the place argue the merits or otherwise of past changes of article content. My request to user:Materialscientist is to review the repeated occasions of reversions after major changes of content. Petergans (talk) 16:26, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Much as I appreciate Petergans’ research and contributions, and with respect, as an editor he seem incapable of observing WP:BRD. That is to say, after one of his edits is reverted he seems to be disinterested in the D part of BRD, and attempting to seek consensus. Equally, there is no obligation to seek consensus or for a discussion before boldly editing (or reverting).
I further recall instances of Petergans reverting reverts without attempting to seek consensus, which does not help. All that said, the article has come a long way so since I created it. It needs more work, and if there are any reverts of bold edits on my part I intend to follow BRD. I hope Petergans will be able to do so, too.
@YBG: has been doing a sterling job of attempting to keep things on track. Sandbh (talk) 07:31, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just noticed some odd editing, which may or may not be gaming of extended rights. I think you've dealt with this type of thing before, so I figured I ask you about it.
