Bolbanabad (Persian: بلبان آباد and Kurdish: بلوان ئاوا) also Romanized as Bolbānābād; also known as Bolbolānābād, Būl-e Bandābād, and Būl Bandābād,[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Bolbanabad District of Dehgolan County, Kurdistan province, Iran.[4] It was previously the administrative center for Yeylan-e Jonubi Rural District[5] until the capital of the rural district was transferred to the village of Gerd Miran-e Olya.[6] Bolbanabad is populated by Kurds.[7]
At the 2006 census, its population was 3,464 in 899 households, when it was a village in Yeylan-e Jonubi Rural District of the former Yeylan District of Ghorveh County.[8] The following census in 2011 counted 3,207 people in 943 households,[9] and the village of Bolbanabad had been elevated to the status of a city. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,193 people in 1,075 households.[2]
