possessive s[edit]

Can we come up with a better naming system for these articles? --Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 15:00, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't check my (en)-watchlist on a regular basis, so I'm sorry for continuing to create district articles based on the original first electoral articles without noticing this and DAJF's article moves. As for the naming of articles, I have no preference whatsoever and am more concerned about content as Wikipedia sometimes gets even basic facts on Japanese politics wrong. I'm obviously not a native speaker though I grew up in a non-native English-speaking household, so I'm happy to follow reasonable suggestions. Could you come up with a somewhat consistent scheme for all types of electoral districts for the Diet in all time periods? If you can please edit the proposal below to make the naming more "natural".
So far, it seems I'm the only user expanding this category. For now, I'll just continue to create a set of articles containing the most basic facts: Who was elected where and when. But, as I previously wrote on the Japan-project pages (when response was a bit underwhelming), I'm also thankful for any feedback on everything else beyond naming: content, formatting etc. --Asakura Akira (talk) 13:32, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed naming system:

That looks OK to me. I think the main problem that Chris and I had was with the unnatural-sounding "Tokyo's 1st district" style. If future articles can leave out the possessive "s", there will probable be no problem. --DAJF (talk) 01:27, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reply. I'll do that and try to move existing articles by prefecture whenever I create new ones as I'll then have to update the navigational templates anyway. --Asakura Akira (talk) 13:09, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
