Naghan (Persian: ناغان, also Romanized as Nāghān)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Naghan District of Kiar County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.[4] It is also the administrative center for Naghan Rural District.[5] The city is populated by Lurs.[6]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 4,928 in 1,210 households, when it was in the Central District of Ardal County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 4,861 people in 1,345 households,[8] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Naghan District in the new Kiar County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,125 people in 1,842 households.[2]
