Nowruzan (Persian: نوروزان)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Kavar Rural District of the Central District of Kavar County, Fars province, Iran.[4] The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Akbarabad[5] (now a city).[4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 3,332 in 698 households, when it was in the former Kavar District of Shiraz County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,982 people in 774 households,[7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Kavar County.[8] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,607 people in 758 households.[2]
