Tasuj (Persian: طسوج)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Tasuj District of Kavar County, Fars province, Iran. It also serves as the administrative center for Tasuj Rural District.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 5,814 in 1,243 households, when it was a village in Tasuj Rural District of the former Kavar District of Shiraz County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 5,136 people in 1,249 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Kavar County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,555 people in 1,141 households.[2]
After the census, the village of Tasuj was elevated to the status of a city.[7]
