Pollution up or down?[edit]

I've just read that, between 2007 and 2015, "levels of nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide (in the UK) have dropped by about 40% and 60% respectively". Source: The Times, 28 July 2017, page 19. I assume this reduction is mainly a result of the closure of coal-fired power stations but it seems at odds with the current concern about nitrogen oxides in diesel exhaust.
