I think that 'Dr. Honda' is not correct, but 'Dr. Homma'.
http://en.tezuka.co.jp/manga/sakuhin/classification/ser_8.html 163 'Homma Hematoma' deals with his death.
The Kanji also reads it as 'Honma', not 'Honda'.
About the origin of black jacks scars in trivia section: 'said by some sources to be skin grafts from a friend who was Black' However, in episode two of the new black jack series, it says that his skin was reattached by Dr honma. Can someone clear this up?
Also, there are 17 volumes not 12, I looked on amazon.co.jp. Am I missing something?
I was seeing the old 1950 Astro Boy series and in the episode "The Time Machine", Black Jack made a cameo appereance but by the name of Dr. Rogée (or something like that) along with his nurse by the name of Penny. I never read the manga or seen the anime but I know it was him: he had black and white hair and a scar on the face. Can someone add to this. I would do it but as I stated, I never seen the anime or read the manga. --198.147.225.29 04:58, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
I think it's based on black jack. This manga is very great. Anyone knows how long it is? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 60.229.173.239 (talk) 06:22, 15 January 2007 (UTC).
I removed the licensing information for the 2004 anime and The Two Doctors of Darkness from the info box. It previously stated that they were both licensed in the United States by U.S. Manga Corps and Manga Entertainment respectively. This was untrue as neither the anime series nor the film are licensed for release outside of Japan.69.180.93.172 06:57, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
After reading through the Black Jack page, I think that there may be a need to separate some of the material here on this page into their own pages. I recommend pages for:
Black Jack (manga character)
Black Jack (anime) (as more than a Redirect Page)
Black Jack (TV Drama)
List of Black Jack characters
Pinoko
It will help un-clutter the page and should help make Black Jack a page worthy of Good Article status.

I say "go for it!" But you have to know if the spin-off articles don't have enough info to justify them, they'd probably end up redirected here. If it's the clutter that worries you, something can be done without creating many articles. See the before [2] and after [3] of the Captain Harlock article.--Nohansen 21:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, we need seperate pages for each of the anime, IMO. J'onn J'onzz (talk) 20:10, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
The Biwamaru entry is not well written. However, I am not familiar with the character enough to rewrite it. Can someone with more knowledge of the character tackle this?--Diggnity 05:05, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Does anyone happen to know which of the Tezuka TV specials Black Jack appeared in? The article mentions Astro Boy/Tetsuwan Atom as possibly being his first televised appearance, but I think it must have certainly been one of the TV specials, possibly Marine Express? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.21.190.132 (talk) 08:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Kimba the White Lion appears quite frequently as a cameo, especially in episode 7 of 2004 TV as the main animal saved (in this episode he is renamed "Luna-luna"). That white cub was not Kimba ( Leo ) but Lune, Kimba's son, take a look at the Kimba the white lion article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.122.105.214 (talk) 20:53, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Many of the passages reiterate pronouns in simple periods that are no more than 2 lines long, if even that. Furthermore, the article lacks a lot when it comes to proper syntax. Shouldn't the articles diction be rectified? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RaspK FOG (talk • contribs) 18:08, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Pinokos body is mostly synthetic. Also he operates on a sentient computer that runs a hospital, though that isn't very defining. Pinoko appears in almost every issue, so that he can make synthetic bodies is a defining aspect of Dr. Black Jack. CensoredScribe (talk) 16:37, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
I think it is better for the article Young Black Jack to be separate and not merge with the article Black Jack. But I believe that it is best to reach a consensus in the Wikipedia community. Is it better to merge the Young Black Jack article, or to stay separate and add the link of the Young Black Jack article to the related anime section of the infobox of Black Jack? There should be better listing of media that uses Tezuka characters if not on a page then on a new navibox for pages like Ray and Young Black Jack.--2600:8805:5B00:2:A4E9:559C:BB25:3AEE (talk) 14:03, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Did it truly sold 176m copies? It is stated that it sold 45m in Japan, so it is unrealistic to think that it sold 130m abroad, that is more than what Naruto has sold abroad, even though the latter is much more popular than a manga from the 70s, it is not even more popular than Astroboy. We should look for more sources. Cracker-Kun (talk) 15:18, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
There was a Black Jack ONA from 2001-2002. Mentioned in the List of Black Jack episodes page. Zoroken98 (talk) 11:03, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
