Amazon.com doesn't know Blacklist: Recovering the Life of Canada Lee so I can't find the author, etc.
But it does have Becoming Something : The Story of Canada Lee by Mona Z. Smith published in August 2004. ISBN: 0571211429 —Preceding unsigned comment added by RJFJR (talk • contribs) 00:35, 9 December 2005
This article doesn't even mention Paul Robeson, who was the true pioneer in Hollywood and who was as persecuted -- if not more (his passport was taken away and he might have been a victim of the CIA, according to some accounts) than Canada Lee. Lee is to Robeson as say, Luther Adler is to Marlon Brando (in Method actors).
As for the contention that Alfred Hitchcock let Canada Lee rewrite his dialog, John Steinbeck who wrote the scrip despised Hitchcock as a racist who did all he could to turn Canada Lee's cahracter into a stereotype, by suberting Steinbeck's dialogue.
Something is wrong here. This person has gone overboard in praising Lee, thus creating distortions. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Timmy Toole (talk • contribs) 16:43, 18 December 2006 (UTC). I don't get what you mean by "True Pioneer" in hollywood as Paul Robeson..there were many before during and after Robeson.Rex Ingram most notably comes to mind.Black artists shared the same oppression. And the only reason we don't remember Canada Lee as well as Robeson is because he died just before he was to come before the congressional committie. Canada Lee and Robeson were friends and came to each others aide as well as others. My Grand father was a Black Socialists labor leader and Robeson and Lee raised money for his trial.Oldpanther 12:09, 12 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oldpanther (talk • contribs)
There are 2 listings for Canada Lee's boxing record (38-32-8 w/15 KOs and 33-31-7 w/13 KOs). The second comes from IMDb.com, which is user generated information and that boxing record has nothing to link that record to any other source. Does anyone know another source where the 33-31-7 w/13 KOs record comes from? If not, then shouldn't that be removed from his Wikipedia record?Jtyroler (talk) 01:43, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
