Writings[edit]

The list in the section Writings is a pain to look at, and should in my opinion be prosified. Geschichte (talk) 22:07, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How would you do it? We won't find any references describing his books, so we would have to just write a superficial translation to English of what the books discuss based on their titles. That might be good enough though perhaps, especially since the titles are in Norwegian and this is the English Wiki. —Filippusson (t.) 22:27, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Someone w/ access to A-tekst may be able to pull out a few book reviews. IMO the best solution would be to prosify his bibliography (per Geschichte) and direct readers towards an online index of his publications, like BIBSYS or CRISTIN. --Eisfbnore talk 22:56, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I searched the database, but only found a review for his latest book from 1995. —Filippusson (t.) 23:03, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That solution seems fine (prosifying with mention of review when applicable), and also, in my opinion, details like publishing house and isbn could be omitted. Geschichte (talk) 12:42, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

I've been looking for some available pictures for this article, but have not found any that are obviously free. However, I came across this website, which includes two 1940s pictures of Gjems-Onstad. One (near the top) a screenshot of him operating a radio transmitter from the documentary Det grodde fram, and near the bottom a regular portrait of him in uniform. Would it be possible to use these images in the article you think? —Filippusson (t.) 00:42, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The use of a fair use photograph is permitted, as he is dead and thus not possible to take a free photo of. See WP:FU#Policy. --Eisfbnore talk 09:40, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, would it be possible to use this image from 1973? It is probably the most appropriate image to use if we can only use one, since it's from the year he became a Member of Parliament (looks pretty official too). If you could help explain a bit further how I specifically add a picture under the policy you cite it would be appreciated; its pretty complicated and I don't want to break any rules. (By the way, isn't there some sort of policy under which the old 1940s images could be used anyway; at least the portrait which I can't imagine there's any applicable copyright for.) —Filippusson (t.) 20:22, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. I got explanation somewhere else, and have now added the 1973 picture. —Filippusson (t.) 11:08, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
