Come on, just look at it. 172.162.193.193 (talk) 22:55, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I have to say that I Chose to write "an Asturian nobleman" at the fist time mainly because there's no Contemporary sources about Pelayo, and as far I know all The Christian Sources are dated between The X's and The XI's Century, the Muslim Sources at the other hand try to diminish the role and the origin of Pelayo.
This lack of objective sources generated a lot of doubts about the true origin of Pelayo, in matter of facts there is a lot Sources that indicated that he has an Asturian, Galician, or even a Cantabrian origin. At the Other hand we have an well known legend about a his Visigothic origin justified 'cause in that case the Asturian Kingdom represent the continuity of the Visigothic Kingdom.
For that reason I chose to write "an Asturian nobleman" because that is a real fact, he created the noble house of the Asturian Kingdom and He is "per se" an Asturian nobleman. Jfreyre 00:22, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't think that we have to change all the structure of this an other articles, and I don't think that we have to CHange the template. Jfreyre
Shouldn't this be renamed to History of Spanish Galicia or History of Galicia (Spain)? As you can see, the Galicia_(Central_Europe)#History is long enough to deserve its own subarticle about history, so History of Galicia should be a disambig.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 01:42, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
This entire article is written in badly fractured pseudo-English, obviously translated from Spanish! This is supposed to be the English-language Wikipedia. Is it not possible to ask historians qualified in the history of Galicia to edit it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Die Flabbergast (talk • contribs) 14:16, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I have to say that the section of Middle Age in Galicia is too brief, and deserves an expansion. We only have a few lines by now. Reconquista is very important in the history of all Spain, since it made the frame for its History. But in Galicia we only can read that "the Muslims never took real control of Galicia - Northern Iberia" and a few rebelions against them or against other Christian kingdoms. Spacially, i would love to know whether there were battles of the Reconquista in Galicia, since these battles were so important in the History of Spain. We have very little information of the period 711-1000, as it is written today. thankyou.95.122.167.147 (talk) 20:48, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
