Notability is a big issue in this article. Each entries can have a separate Wiki article. So editors have to take this in mind. They can better have a wiki account and make articles for the notable personalities and then add those names in this list making an internal link to main article. Mere addition of non-notable persons makes the standard of this list worse--Sureshmaran (talk) 00:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Refer Wikipedia:Notability (people) for adding personalities in the list articles. Discussions can be done on the talk page regarding removing or adding a personality in the article. Also editors can refer Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines and Wikipedia:No personal attacks--Sureshmaran (talk) 05:38, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
What justification is there for including people in this list if they do not have Madaliar as one of their names? I propose that all entries without this name should be removed, unless their entry can be listed as "X X Mudaliar" and that name is supported in a separate article about the person. - Fayenatic (talk) 11:29, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
It is not necessary that the person's name is XXMudaliar. A person can be included in this list if he falls under any of these categories
Mudaliar article can be referred for the castes included in the Mudaliar community for adding personalities in this article--Sureshmaran (talk) 03:31, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
yes ofcourse. Also Mudaliar is a caste title of the above mentioned castes and the persons of such castes is always referred as XYZMudaliar--Sureshmaran (talk) 03:47, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
A person can be added only he is a Mudaliar patrilineally as the caste system followed in India is inherited patrilineal--Sureshmaran (talk) 03:47, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually most of the entries in this article belong to the caste which uses the title Mudaliar i.e. castes listed in Mudaliar article--Sureshmaran (talk) 07:36, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
The article would need re-writing if it is to include anybody from the Mudaliar caste. It says it is about a surname. Therefore it should only include people who have this surname, or perhaps people whose father had this surname as well. One or the other would have to be clear from the name or verified from reliable sources. - Fayenatic (talk) 20:08, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
The term "freedomfighter" can only be used in very specific situations - and section titles are not one of them. Do not continue to use this term which is a violation of our policy to maintain a neutral point of view. -- The Red Pen of Doom 03:32, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
G.Viswanathan VIt University & N.S.Krishnan are not Mudaliars . Remove them 76.120.241.212 (talk) 05:19, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
A well known debater, orator and public figure, Professor Solomon Pappiah was born in a Christian Kaikola Mudaliyar community from Madurai--117.202.140.97 (talk) 16:11, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

8note - content blanked - It was an apparent cut and copy paste of copyright material. - Youreallycan (talk) 17:43, 21 December 2011 (UTC) 99.126.254.93 (talk) 05:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
From the lead, it would appear that this list should consist of people who have the title of Mudaliar - in which case, why are there so many people here whose names do not include it? If, on the other hand, it is intended to be a list of members of the three or so communities that use the title then we should heed this stuff and amend the lead section. In fact, we should probably delete the article because there is no way of verifying that the title is only used by the communities stated. - Sitush (talk) 18:47, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Please change 'mudaliyars' to 'mudaliar' that spelling is not original spelling and official spelling government. some matrimony company wanted to promote that spelling for the website which is having that spelling. it will leads to wrongly spelling promotion and not using the official spelling .so remove that its my suggestion. The lead section of this article clearly says this page is to list the people with Mudaliar surname and not a list of people who belong to a caste having Mudaliar title. Hence this requires extensive clean up of persons who haven’t used Mudaliar surname (doesn’t matter if they belong to any caste that has mudaliar title). Some accounts keep on adding both non-notable and persons who haven’t used Mudaliyar surname --Srivatsarcot1 (talk) 16:59, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
