In Toy Story 2, in the Buzz Lightyear video game, Darth Vader and Lightsaber sound effects are heard as well as a Perimeter Droid reference from Return of the Jedi and when Buzz shoots his laser its a TIE fighter sound effect. Plus, Pixar should be allowed to do that because of them being owned by Lucasfilm and their help with Skywalker Sound. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.227.174.247 (talk) 03:51, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

I'm only including the teaser trailer references and mentioning them specifically as such. If the items are not included in the film themselves then only the notes regarding the teaser trailer would remain.Pejorative.majeure (talk) 20:15, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Tokyo Mater is part of the Cars Toons series, it's not a separate short by itself. Not sure if it should be included in the Shorts section, even though it appeared separately in front of Bolt. Pejorative.majeure (talk) 23:42, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't care what some web page says - those pictures aren't satisfactory. Usually I'm all for strange screenshots and assertions, but those pictures don't work. If you go to that spot in the film, the particular frame they used is either of a regular yellow car that the family passes or something else. What is that something else?
There is exactly one frame, when found, that resembles what it would look like if the camera was inside the truck's back hatch, looking out its side window. This particular frame from The Incredibles is actually just a view of the area underneath a highway overpass. (The white "window" area is the sunlit area in the background behind the shadowed area under th highway. The darker "inside truck" area is just the shadows and the outline of the support pillars and the other cement structures of the highway overpass.) It is NOT the Pizza Planet truck.
As much as we would all like The Truck to appear in The Incredibles, it's not there. When I was at the DVD release party for Up at Fentons, I even asked Up character art director Albert Lozano about the Pizza Planet truck being in TI. He admitted it's not there. Brad Bird simply "wasn't on the bandwagon" at the time, as one person online said (you'll notice the truck is in Ratatouille. (People on Pixar-related forums are of the same opinion about Brad Bird.) Please, can anyone back me up here? The Pizza Planet truck appears in every single one of Pixar's 10 released films EXCEPT The Incredibles. That is a verifiable fact. I just suck at proving facts. Who else believes me? -dogman15 (talk) 05:27, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Victory! Someone at Pixar (Lee Unkrich) has finally confirmed that the Pizza Planet truck is not in The Incredibles! I knew it was true all along... now we have proof. See here. Lee Unkrich, as you should know, has a very popular Twitter page. Related to this is a Question and Answer site that he has a profile on. His Twitter has been verified official and he linked to this Q&A site in a Tweet. How much more proof do you need? Case closed. dogman15 (talk) 20:10, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Dinoco and BnL are referenced in different movies. It seems incongruous to simply state that every reference to Dinoco is an explicit reference to Toy Story or that every reference to BnL is also an explicit reference to Wall-E. While these companies first appeared in those films and these are indirect references to the original films, it appears that these are becoming more of a tradition along the lines of Pizza Planet, but are not quite at the same level. For example, A113 always appears. Ratzenberger always appears. A Pizza Planet truck is almost guaranteed to appear.Pejorative.majeure (talk) 19:13, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be images of each reference (using the screen capture)as it can be easier the know each scene of all these references instead of a bunch of time frames. trainfan01
In the Cars section for Finding Nemo it says that Luigi (the Italian car) can be seen driving across the street. I am not sure whether this should be up here because Cars came out 3 years after this film was made and I would dought the film would already be in production. Also there is no time frame to mark where he appears (hence the citation needed) and also it is likely the same scene where the Pizza Planet Truck appears as well so because Luigi and the truck are a similar type of yellow it is possible that may have the truck mistaken for Luigi. If anyone can give any idea of this appearance discuss here. trainfan01 —Preceding undated comment added 02:22, 4 May 2010 (UTC).
Exactly that is what I thought I should expand the statement to mark your said scene. trainfan01 —Preceding undated comment added 23:12, 4 May 2010 (UTC). I saw this in the article "WALL-E can be seen on the front yard of a house before Buzz and Woody land in the car. Sadly, they removed it in the Toy Story DVD 10 Year Anniversary Edition and the 3D version in theaters."
I believe this is incorrect. There was a hoax YouTube video showing Wall-e in various Pixar films, they were all of course false. The user provides no proof and is probably referencing the fake YouTube video, this would make sense why the user thinks they were removed on the DVD and in theaters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LimeiBook86 (talk • contribs) 16:25, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

I have a Disney Adventures magazine that was published just before Cars was released and in one section where it is giving facts and trivia about the film it states this "The Toy Story Pizza Planet delivery truck appears twice, during the "Life Is A Highway" section and inside the announcers booth during the big race". While we already know the announcers booth appearance we have stated in the article, it is also stated to appear during the part when Mack is halling Mcqueen west. However I have looked and looked during this section of the film but I can't find it. Can anyone confirm the appearance in the "Life Is A Highway" section in the film or was the first half of the statement wrong? trainfan01 —Preceding undated comment added 03:13, 20 June 2010 (UTC).
On the source we have of Hamm in Wall-E (where they have it accidentally misspelled it as Hammy (they probably were mixed up with the familiar character of the same name in the 2006 Dreamworks film)) amongst the comments below one of the users points out that it is not Hamm and is "just a generic piggy bank with the make-up on". Maybe an adjustment could be done to this reference on this page. trainfan01 9:42, July 12, 2010

Does anyone else think the current title ("List of Pixar film references") is not very good? It sounds like either a list of references in Pixar films to anything, or a list of anything that references Pixar films. If I could figure out a better suggestion, I'd post a move request, but I'm having trouble thinking of anything decently descriptive that's more concise than List of Pixar film references to other Pixar films, which is probably not an improvement. All I can come up with otherwise is List of Pixar inter-film references or possibly List of Pixar film inter-references, but those aren't really workable either. Any ideas? ((edit semi-protected)) Please add the following references to the article because it would only be appropriate to do so, for they count as references in Pixar films too. Under the sub-heading "Toy Story Trilogy": For "The Incredibles"- There is a restaurant seen to be called Andy's. For "Cars"- 1. a sleeping truck has the initials of 'Toy Story' (TS) 2. Lightning McQueen's number (95) is a reference to the year 1995 when 'Toy Story' was released 3. Flo is the exact same character model as Al McWiggan's car. For "Finding Nemo"- The Jack-In-A-Box from 'Toy Story 3' and the toy aeroplane Buzz gets attached onto, when tring to fly, appear in the toy box in the waiting room. Under the sub-heading "A Bug's Life": For "Toy Story 2"- The chineese food box in the Pizza Planet truck is identicle to the one Manny tried to use for his trick. Under the subheading "The Incredibles": For "Cars"- One od the sleeping trucks has the initials for 'The Incredibless' (Inc). Under the sub-heading "Luxo Jr": For "Cars"- Chick Hick's number (86) is a reference to the year 1986 when 'Luxo Jr' came out. For "Toy Story 2"- In a blooper, Slinky's rear end (seeming to have a mind of it's own) makes a squeak identicle to that of Luxo Jr. Under the sub-heading "For The Birds": For "Finding Nemo"- a boat is seen with 'For The Birds' written on it, in the same style as the original logo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_8x3n15L7E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOOfe1D_dYM&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROTde9SnBEU&feature=related These links will prove that I'm not making up these references. If I ever find out about any more I shall send you another request telling you those ones. jamesgrout 18:49, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
The tailgate lettering on early-model Toyota trucks peeled off easily, hence the numerous Toyota pickups back in the day proclaiming "TOY" and "YO" on their backsides. So the line about the Pizza Planet truck should really say that the letters were stripped or peeled off (as in, intentionally), not worn off. Laodah (talk) 00:15, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Hello, I have noticed that the information about the Pizza Planet truck's appearance in Cars 2, and about the Brave characters reference also in Cars 2, are a bit incorrect.
It is written that the trucks seen racing in front of Buckingham Palace. It is inferred he seen in such place in the film, which is not true. The Pizza Planet truck only appears at that place on a large Cars 2 panoramic poster. This poster can be easily found, for example on iTunes http://trailers.apple.com//705/us/media/galleries/disney/cars2/CRS2_Triptych_720.jpg . However it is not of good resolution enough, and it is necessary to see it in a game that unables to explore it on the official website: http://disney.go.com/cars/#/games/megaposter . I don't know what reliability Wikipedia would give to this. I also add that in Cars 2 the Pizza Planet Truck is also seen at the begginning of the film, on TV, just before the Mel Dorado show comes up. I have seen you consider Slash Film as a reliable source so here goes for this : http://www.slashfilm.com/cars-2-easter-eggs/ .
For the Brave characters, they are incorrectly identified. The tapestry on which the characters appear is actually a car-stylized version of a tapestry that appears in Brave and that pictures the royal family (the queen at the left, and the king at the right with their children). No bear in that. It can be seen in the Japanese trailer of Brave (link: http://www.disney.co.jp/movies/merida/) --Gray Catbird (talk) 23:23, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
I seem to remember (probably in one of the many "making of..." documentaries they've done) a Pixar employee (probably John Lasseter) saying that all these cross-references began by accident; when making Red's Dream they needed a texture for the floor of the circus ring, the texture they had used for the Luxo ball was available, so they used that — they weren't trying to be clever, they were just saving time and effort. However, many critics picked up on the backwards reference, so they made it a tradition for that reason.
If a cite for this can be found, it should surely be included in the article. — 188.29.165.252 (talk) 02:27, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

This can be cited to http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/wheelsonfilm/2754271/Wheels-On-Film-Cars.html which claims "Lots of in-jokes are littered through the picture, the number on the train that Lightning out runs is A113, a reference to California Institute of the Arts, where many Pixar animators studied, Lightning's tires are Buzzard models manufactured by Lightyear, named after Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story." 66.102.83.61 (talk) 22:46, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
In List of Pixar film references#Dinoco, "Dinoco is a sponsor of the Piston Cup,[41]" is a bit of an understatement. In Cars (2006), Dinoco is portrayed as the most lucrative sponsor, an oil company in a world entirely populated by animated vehicles. Its owner Tex Dinoco (a longhorn stretch Cadillac limousine) has long been a supporter of veteran racer "The King #43" (voiced by Richard Petty), who is retiring after seven Piston Cup wins - a record. The plot of the entire film centres around competition between two other racecars (who are in a three-way tie with "King #43" at the end of the last race of the regular season, the "Dinoco 400") as both see a Piston Cup win in a tiebreaker race as a means to obtain the lucrative Dinoco sponsorship on The King's retirement. These cars fantasise about this lucrative sponsorship, which plays a key role in the film's plot. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 17:12, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Could you add Ken Schretzmann (Cars' Editor) to the Cast and Crew Cameos section? He is credited, but it's just under "additional voices". He did the voice for the Mini Van that can be seen in the beginning when he passes Mack falling asleep. I don't think it's written down anywhere, but Ken told me himself, in person, that it is him. I am his niece, after all.
the A1 13 in monsters inc is supposed to be on one of the doors of the offices as mike and sully run down the hall. it was mentioned at around 19 minuites into the BBC documentary Pixar: 25 Magic Moments. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00x9cdm/Pixar_25_Magic_Moments/)
Watching Monsters Inc tonight, I noticed when Boo returns home, she hands Sulley her teddy bear, a Jessie doll, and a Nemo toy (as previously discussed in the main article). When Sulley tucks her into bed, there is a shelf above the bed with toys on it -- including a doll with red hair and a blue dress. Could it be a reference to Brave? There's an eleven year difference, which makes it improbable, but the fact that it appears in a scene with three other Pixar references makes me wonder. Thoughts? Could I ask why The Muppets is listed? It actually says it isn't a Pixar movie, but by that logic it shouldn't count. If we were to include it, then it would only be logical to include all Pixar references in non-Pixar works. I really think we should remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.104.226.22 (talk) 12:33, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

There is a link to Toy Story 4 you forgot to add to in the section with cameos of Pixar employees. 76.10.139.234 (talk) 19:30, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
I tried to search for some reliable source on the internet to verify André's cameo appearance on Red's Dream as I improved my draft about the mentioned Pixar character, but I can't find it in the internet.
The only reliable source I found is the book The Art of Pixar Short Films, specifically the page 63. According to my latest edit, this citation was added on my draft's "Appearances" section.
This page shows a screenshot of Red's Dream where a lot of bicycles are shown and, from afar, a clock based on The Adventures of André & Wally B. is seen.
Is this visual citation useful to verify this Pixar reference?--André the Android(talk) 13:42, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

For Luca The A113 is on the train ticket that Alberto gave to Luca so he could go to school. 108.4.132.193 (talk) 13:41, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
