What is the order of the shows in this article? Some are alphabetical, some are by time of year, some are the actual year, etc.? We should have a consensus on the order for consistency. Thanks, Alanraywiki (talk) 22:06, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is frustrating me too. I will re-order the shows alphabetically within each section unless somebody objects in the next few days. Stepho talk05:09, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I had gone through and removed all of the redlinks from the list. These have been restored with an edit summary of "Restored entries without articles. As per WP:REDLINK, the red links encourage people to write the missing articles." I have gone back through the list and added ((cn)) tags to all the entries that are redlinked and had no external links at all. I also converted external links to bare URL references.
Now do all these redlinks belong in this list. The list needs a lead section that introduces the subject, and defines the scope and inclusion criteria of the list. IMO there should be more than just a redlink here. I think there should be a reference to an independent reliable source to show that the show is noticed. GBfan11:28, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The redlinks are meant to encourage editors to create articles to fill the voids. By removing the relinks there is no encouragement.
However, some of these are really just local shows of no significance and could be removed. For example, my home city has the "Perth Motor Show". It's important to us living here but of no importance to the rest of the country or world (the Sydney and Melbourne shows are where the big Australian car news happens). The criteria for acceptance or removal might be tricky to work out (especially for editors not in that show's country) but a combination of redlink and no reference might be a good place to start. I also agree that the criteria should be stated in the intro.
We also need to do something about shows that list a once-off date. Did it really happen just once (ie unimportant) or did the editor simply type in the last date he/she/it knew about). Stepho talk05:51, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
