What about the Sandown line in Sydney? Where does it fit in? Is it counted as closed or open? The line branched (branches?) off near Camellia railway station and ran parallel to Grand Avenue. Its three stops were Hardies, Goodyears and Sandown.John Dalton 11:01, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Only the platforms were closed on the Sandown Line, the line is still open to freight traffic. The traffic is made up of Patrick Portlink container trains from Botany to Seatons Transport. Train numbers are T171/T172 & T181/T182 and also Pacific National/Freight Australia tankers for the Canberra 1293/2194, Dubbo 1893/8194 & West Tamworth 1593/5194 oil trains respectively, to the Shell Oil Refinery for loading. Cream of Tartar Works opened on 07/03/1927 and closed ??/07/1959. Mikey P 23.19 11 March 2007
I'm not really into trains so there may be a reason for this that I'm unaware of but why is the Toronto line, in Newcastle, in a list of closed Sydney stations? --AussieLegend 03:48, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey, there is another line off the Southern Highlands Line. It goes through Thirlmere. I know they use it for tours. But does it still qualify as closed or get a mention? Thux2828 (talk) 20:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
A station which seem to be missing from the list is Rhonda Valley.
Rhonda Valley is 'hidden' in the bush between Bullaburra & Wentworth Falls. I drove down there in the 80s in a 4WD, which was the only way to access it at the time. I'm not sure how much remains today, but during the 80s the platform, some buildings & signage still remained.Terrybebb (talk)
There are at least four more closed lines in the Newcastle region:
There is also Sulphide Junction station, which used to be on the main northern line between Cockle Creek and Cardiff. GilesMartin1945 (talk) 07:17, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

List of closed Sydney railway stations → List of closed railway stations in Sydney – This would put this article in line with similar lists such as List of closed railway stations in Perth, List of closed railway stations in Brisbane, List of closed railway stations in Melbourne, List of closed railway stations in South Australia and List of closed railway stations in Victoria.
