In the line "Scorsese's body of work explores themes such as Italian-American identity, Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption, faith, machismo, nihilism, crime and sectarianism", 'sectarianism' should be linked to the relevant Wikipedia article. Tobin ez (talk) 17:30, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

There is an inaccuracy in this article regarding Scorsese's education. Scorsese is not a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts. Scorsese received a Master of Arts from NYU's Steinhardt in 1968. "[Scorsese] earned his undergraduate degree from NYU’s Washington Square College in 1964, a Master of Arts degree from the School of Education (now the Steinhardt School of Education, Culture, and Human Development) in 1968, and taught in NYU Tisch’s undergraduate filmmaking program shortly thereafter.' Refer to this article from NYU's webiste for the quotation--"NYU Tisch School of the Arts Receives Major Gift to Establish the Martin Scorsese Institute of Global Cinematic Arts". tisch.nyu.edu. The section on Scorsese's career in the 80s needs information on his collaboration with Francis Ford Coppola and Woody Allen to direct the anthology film New York Stories. 92.10.13.209 (talk) 16:44, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Thanks you :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.167.166.214 (talk) 22:03, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Is it sourced that this film is considered to be Scorsese's first foray into mainstream filmmaking? Taxi Driver would seem to qualify, in the literal sense that it was distributed by a major studio, it starred an Oscar winner, it's not an experimental film, etc. It seems to me that the Color of Money "first mainstream" claim is using the term "mainstream" to editorialize on the commercial/conventional qualities of the film. I was wondering what other people thought. YouCanDoBetter (talk) 21:22, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
Scorsese's films, much influenced by his Italian-American background and upbringing in New York City, center on "macho-posturing insecure men" and explore crime, machismo, nihilism, and Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption.
This sounds like a personal opinion written in the article. StaffSgtBobBarnes (talk) 10:15, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

The recent meme on tumblr about a nonexistent ‘73 movie titled ‘Goncharov’ has gotten it added to the tab about his filmography and should be removed Flibety (talk) 15:41, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

In film preservation / World Cinema Project section, second paragraph, change "three" to "four" in this sentence: "The Criterion Collection so far has released three Vol. boxsets on DVD and Blu-ray, titled, Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project."
And add at the end of the paragraph a sentence listing the titles and release years of the six films in the fourth set: https://www.criterion.com/boxsets/6183-martin-scorseses-world-cinema-project-no-4 Michaelavolio (talk) 05:39, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
At what point do we allow at the very least, a footnote about Goncharov as a social movement and Scorsese’s social influence? Just saying. 2600:1700:38A0:1FA0:DDB7:A3D:5BF6:E35F (talk) 17:08, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Awards table lists total awards for each film, not films won by Scorsese alone. 2604:CA00:159:14D:0:0:64:EFDB (talk) 03:30, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
I redlinked Scorcese's frequent collaborator David Tedeschi, and hope that a fan might create an article for him. He certainly seems to deserve it, for his editing and directing. Activist (talk) 16:04, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

Second-to-last paragraph in 1973-1989: "That year, he had signed a deal with upstart major The Walt Disney Studios to produce and direct features, following the success of The Color of Money, and the company is currently soliciting material for possible development, and decided not to decide on projects he had hoped to produce under the company's two-year agreement with the studio, and the decision Scorsese wants to hire established directors like Elia Kazan and Arthur Penn." This sentence is a mess, unless it's a direct quote (it's not marked as such). Needs either a rewrite or some indication it's quoting someone. 74.109.239.102 (talk) 13:10, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
