• Searching Google Scholar[1] and Google Books[2] most results are about Ottoman Turks, Ottoman Empire, and/or Turkish people, especially in the context of stereotypical, essentializing views that all Turks are alike. Quotation marks used show that "The Turk" is indeed a combined phrase. Some examples:
  • "Although he shares with the reader some old-fashioned prejudices about “the Turk,”...[3]
  • "Imagining 'the Turk'" (title of a book)[4]
  • "Images of'the Other': 'the Turk' in Greek Cypriot children's imaginations"[5]
  • "Ideology and history, identity and alterity: the Arab image of the Turk from the Abbasids to Modern Egypt"[6]
  • "WHEN did the medieval idea of the solidarity of Christian Europe as against the Turk break down?"[7]
  • "Bad as the Kurd is , in justice let me say he is not half so bad as the Turk ."[8]
  • "The whole official record of the Turk may be summed up in the word incapacity ."[9]
• Of the results not about people, there are at least as many for Amazon Mechanical Turk (eg. [10][11][12]) than this device. I think WP:SURPRISE is also a factor here. (t · c) buidhe 02:03, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
• Oppose. This article gets well over 600 views per day[13] and there is no other article on WP using the title. It's unlikely significant number of readers would search for "The Turk" (using "the") expecting an article about Turkish people. Even "Turk" would be somewhat unlikely. As to Amazon Mechanical Turk, that article would not be titled "The Turk" and all three citations simply refer to the same paper that uses the catchy title "Inside the Turk: Understanding Mechanical Turk as a Participant Pool" but the paper does not use the phrase anywhere outside that title. Even if this article needed moving, it would be to Mechanical Turk per WP:NATURAL, but there does[doesn't] seem to be any problem here. Station1 (talk) 03:05, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
