Notability[edit]

Let's discuss the subject's notability... ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:28, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

From articles on Wikipedia, we have she was on Season 11, Drive 'N Drag and RuPaul's Drag Race Live!.
news articles include Plastique Tiara, of ‘RPDR’ Season 11, to appear at Globe Bar & Kitchen for Pride, Plastique Tiara talks Asian representation, family pride and her accent, and Rupaul's Drag Race Star Plastique Tiara talks new generation of drag. (Bonus Plastique Tiara makes it werq)
These are news articles specifically about her in the websites of the primary newspapers for Spokane, Washington and Houston, Texas as well as the Hollywood reporter. Of these, the Spokesman and Chron should be perfect. The Hollywood reporter article is slightly more problematic as it is an interview, *but* there are some pieces to it that would count as secondary. Similarly interview/articles in the Washington Blade and Vogue. (I'm grabbing those from another computer, will add URLs if desired later). Note, this was with about 10 minutes of research on news.google.com for the name "Plastique Tiara".Naraht (talk) 14:28, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say the subject is notable. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:17, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

JBW Given the above, can you please unlock it. I'm fine with either where it was when it was locked *or* restoring the Plastique Tiara (drag queen) version (to draft, I guess) or both.Naraht (talk) 13:58, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Let's please not restore a second draft page. We should be using the Plastique Tiara article history if any page is restored and expanded. I would support having a page for Plastique Tiara. Hoping others will chime in here as well. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:22, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Another Believer fair enough. If the creator of the draft has additional, he can add them.Naraht (talk) 15:26, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notability (again)[edit]

Where are we at re: notability? Here's some coverage from the past 12 months:

@JBW: Do you still feel this redirect needs to be protected? ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:00, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@JBW Can you please reply, or suggest where a discussion re: notability should be held? The last notability discussion was held almost four year ago, and (in my opinion) at this point it seems kind of silly that the subject does not have a Wikipedia entry. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:06, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Or, per User:SmokeyJoe at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2022 September 28, can this page be moved into draft space with the protection removed? I guess I am confused about the best path forward, but I want to work on this bio but with the article history preserved. Thanks for any help here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:17, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why would preserving the article history require unprotecting the redirect in advance of the draft being completed? And replacing the redirect with a completed draft doesn't obliterate its prior history either, so why would preserving the article history require arguing about the old article instead of just buckling down to get a draft done? You can just write the draft; if it's good enough, any administrator can just move it overtop the redirect even if the redirect is still technically "protected"; and the entire edit history of the article will be intact because anything that gets temporarily "deleted" in the process of the move can easily be restored by said administrator with one click on one button. It's just not nearly as complicated as you're making it out to be — just go into the last article version of the title, copy the text, paste it into a draft page, work on it, and voila. Absolutely none of what you're complaining about right now is an insurmountable obstacle or a necessary part of the process at all. The roadblocks you perceive in front of you just don't exist outside of your imagination, because the edit history isn't going to get broken and page protection doesn't prevent a finished draft from being moved in place. @Bearcat: I can keep going, but how are we looking at Draft:Plastique Tiara? ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:45, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's looking pretty damn good. Do you consider it finished already, or is there anything else you want to add to it before we pull the trigger? I'm fine either way, I think that's easily much better and much more mainspace-worthy than the version from four years ago, but just want to give you a chance to finish it first if you think there's still anything else needed. Bearcat (talk) 21:48, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bearcat Thanks! Ready for a histmerge! I can do more later, but my primary goal is just getting something in the main space. Much appreciated if you're able to assist. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:52, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, gimme a couple minutes and the job will be complete. Bearcat (talk) 21:53, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
