Marijuana and Wexler

[edit]

I cannot find a verifiable reference that Wexler was arrested for posession. I'm going to remove this section until a verified reference is added.

Single Editor Self-Promoting/Destructing this Article

[edit]

When reviewing the History of edits on this article it is clear that there is a single editor whose sole purpose is to advertise their own website and remove/ minimize mention of any other Doodlebop fan websites.

This editor, in my opinion, has not made a positive contribution to the Doodlebop article.

A short list of the destructive/promotional edits this editor has made:

• 15 March 2006 – Added promotional link title

• 16 April 2006 - Removed all fansites except one – Added promotional link title

• 2 May 2006 – Added affiliate ad to other exposure.

• 2 May 2006 – Added affiliate ad to merchandising.

• 2 May 2006 – Put typos in the URLs of all the other fansites purposely causing 404 errors on the links.

The editor doing this is obviously affiliated with TogetherForever (deedeerooneymoe dot net)

Shandolad removed 1 ad. I removed 1 ad and fixed the Links for the fansites. I removed the deedeerooneymoe dot net External Link

I’ve opened this discussion to allow all editors to this page to try to reach a consensus on what to do with the Doodlebop fansites.

One option would be to remove them completely.

Another option would be to continually remove the spamming site when they add their links or advertisements to the article.

Other editors comments please.

And they are back

5/13/06 - Once again they added affiliate ads to merchandising and other exposure and removed 1 of the other fansites.

And they have not visited this page to talk about the issue.

I'm one of the co-owners of one of the listed sites. I just wanted to thank everyone who is responsible for keeping the Doodlebops entry "un-vandalized". :) Kudos! I do not think it is fair to have to resort to deleting all of the sites from the entry, however I see that if the problem persists, that will be the only solution. Do whatever you guys have got to do..

Bus Driver Bob

[edit]

The above is interesting; the Doodlebop Fan Wars, as it were. I'm an adult fan, largely at first because I don't get cable and am stuck with CBC and Global, but now because I just damned like them. You'll note all the parents and grandparents in Doodlebop concert audiences who are having as much fun as their kids...this is a lot more fun that Captain Kangaroo or Mr. Dressup was, and sure nowhere near as tame as The Friendly Giant; anyway the article doesn't mention Bus Driver Bob and the invariable bus tour; I'll try and think of the "formula" for his appearances and add it, unless another someone out there wants to take the initiative.Skookum1 17:25, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Further comment: the D-bops are turning a whole generation of kids onto exuberant song and dancing like, I'd say, never before; just wait until these kids hit their music-producing years without all the usual inhibitions against performance, "letting your body go" and just downright having fun in public. They're so much fun they downright un-Canadian, in fact; all the better....Skookum1 17:25, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh

[edit]

This show is torture. It should be used to interrogate Al-Qaeda prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

No! The Doodlebops are cool!!!!! 74.166.156.250 (talk) 16:02, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was joking! They're not cool! They're just friggin weird!!!!! They're freaky!!!! ....uh oh, wheres Moe? Who the f--- cares where the f--- Moe is!!!!! ....on a serious note, they dont even play instruments. holy crap, how about a doodlebop band that actually plays instruments! 74.166.156.250 (talk) 21:07, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

[edit]

In their CD "Rock and Bob With the Doodle Bops":
The song "I want to be bigger" could easily be considered very offensive to little people.
On the song "Write a letter" Moe clearly states that they have a letter for Allah.

Two characters on this show (Moe and Rooney) are clearly homosexuals. This show is nothing more that another attempt by the ultra liberals to make feminine behavior by men seen normals and acceptable to children.

Costumes

[edit]

I seem to remember that, when this program first appeared, the costumes and hair were some kind of molded plastic/foam. Much like what you'd see on that other painful-for-adults show, Lazytown. Might be of some minor interest for this entry. Varingos 18:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is correct. During season one the actors wore complete foam-like material body suits. After season one they changed to air-brushed makeup mainly because the suits were too hot for the actors. There were also many complaints from fans on how off the suits looked, as well as from the actors for the amount of time it took to get into costume. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.190.95.209 (talk) 21:57, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pruned Other Exposure Section

[edit]

I pruned the other exposure section and deleted the merchandise section because it contained vandalism, shameless self promotion, blatent opinion statemtns, and irrelevant information. CelticLabyrinth 09:30, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cancellation Date?

[edit]

The band is still listed as active, but there is no mention of when the television show was canceled. Vpw (talk) 03:08, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rankings; Future releases

[edit]

So, is there, or will there be a greatest hits album? Where does Rolling Stone Magazine rank Doodlebops on the list of greatest bands of the rock era? Are they as big today, as the Beatles were in their Era? The Doodlebops have a unique style that seem to be influenced by the B52s. 74.166.156.250 (talk) 16:06, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
