The page is being deliberately edited to portray the player's career appearances/goal ratio at Galway United F.C. incorrectly.
Galway United's website list all player statistics between the period 2007 to 2009 of the players career [1]
The career league appearances section in the football infobox is being constantly changed from the player's correct app/goal record at Galway (73 app/11 goals) to the incorrect figure of 52 app/31 goals.
Any reference to the player's overall career appearances/goal total between 2007 and 2009 is also being edited out of the page.
The article prose was largely a copy of the player's profile on St Patrick's Athletic F.C. website at http://www.stpatsfc.com/player.php?playerid=99 , a page which asserts copyright to the company trading as St Patrick's Athletic and with no evidence of its contents being licensed for free re-use. So I've rewritten the copied part, with reference to the St Pat's profile and to other sources. Struway2 (talk) 12:59, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
As noted above in April 2010, anons and occasionally registered editors have regularly removed Galway United stats from the prose of the article and inserted false stats into the infobox, and also restored the content to a copyvio. The page was semi-protected in May, and then subject to pending changes review. Though I've rewritten the copyvio and the addition of false stats has hopefully stopped, an editor still seems determined that there's no need for any mention of Galway stats in the prose, suggesting at their talk page that having stats in the infobox is enough, and that reporting how many goals the player scored to become Galway's top scorer in 2009 in some way devalues or belittles both the player and Wikipedia. I've invited that editor to comment here. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 21:05, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
A discussion has been opened at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Disruptive editing-ownership-edit warring issues at Vinny Faherty. —Struway2 (talk) 09:25, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
This page has been edited many times using incorrect stats about the player. The sources that are being quoted are incorrect and have been know in the past to have the wrong information. It is close to impossible to get correct League of Ireland stats on the web. Faherty scored 10 league goals this season for St. Patrick's Athletic and was offered a new contract by the club but he turned it down. This information is not represented on his page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seinvicibles08 (talk • contribs) 14:58, 23 November 2010
Vinny Faherty scored 8 league goals, not 10 (As you can see here). And what about the contract? If you have a reliable source that says he was not released, link it. --Exorcist Z (talk) 17:58, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

A number of anon editors have recently removed all mention of a Cypriot third-tier club, Olympias Lympion, from Mr Faherty's immediately past career.
Mr Faherty signed for a second-tier club, PAEEK, in January 2018, and played regularly for them for the remainder of the season. His stats, including list of matches played in, are recorded at the website of the Cyprus FA, the official governing body for football in that country, at https://www.cfa.com.cy/En/player/54/222015 . The site also lists a spell with third-tier club Olympias Lympion in the first half of the 2018/19 season, with playing details at https://www.cfa.com.cy/En/player/55/228387 . One anon questioned the reliability and accuracy of that site: diff.
However, Mr Faherty is mentioned in published match reports, e.g. https://www.kerkida.net/articles/g-epilekti-agrotiko/eidiseis/olympias-lympion/707191-800-atoma-eidan-tin-niki-tis-olympias, https://www.kerkida.net/articles/g-epilekti-agrotiko/eidiseis/olympias-lympion/712461-minyma-meta-tin-tessara-vinteo . He is listed as a goalscorer on live-score type sites that report match results with scorers' names, e.g. http://www.goalslive.com/new/live/score4.aspx?d=1606820, https://www.thesportsman.com/football/match/10-11-2018/olympias-limpion-vs-po-ormidias . These reports/listings are consistent with match details at the Cyprus FA site.
He gets frequent mentions on the club's Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/olimpiasfc/ , which is effectively its official website.
A lengthy interview-based piece on an English player at Olympias Lympion, Freddie Westlake, namechecks Mr Faherty as a team-mate: https://englishplayersabroad.com/2018/12/13/freddie-westlake-combining-the-technical-style-of-cypriot-football-with-the-physicality-of-english/
My Greek is limited to Google-translate, but there's so much evidence for his presence that it's approaching ridiculous to claim he was never there. I haven't been able to discover whether this was a loan spell or a permanent signing, I'm guessing it was a loan, because reports of his rejoining an Irish club have him returning from PAEEK, which would imply that was still his owning club. An anon cited RTÉ's report of his return from PAEEK https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019/0105/1020471-shels-snap-up-ex-dundalk-attacker-ciaran-kilduff/ as if it in some way justified their removal of Olympias: diff; it doesn't. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:00, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi Struway2.
The information on the CFA website is incorrect. The federation have the player listed and registered under the wrong name and in turn this must also mean the club did. This is common in Cyprus, as is a lot of other grey issues regarding football in the country(see any amount of links regarding corruption or shady dealings and Cypriot football) His transfer papers, registration and documentation show that he never was contracted to anyone other than PAEEK. If you have a secure method or private email I am happy to forward all the relevant proof if needed.
Sorry again for the trouble. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.233.36.76 (talk) 21:44, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
