What the Future Holds (album)

5x expanded by Calvin999 (talk). Self-nominated at 20:57, 23 September 2020 (UTC).

  • I'll do a QPQ even though I've reviewed more than I've nominated over 8 years. Just because you don't find it interesting, doesn't mean others won't or that it's not interesting for this topic.  — Calvin999 12:22, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Use one you've already done and haven't used before. --evrik (talk) 18:59, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT2:... that the name of the album What the Future Holds is a reflection of how the Steps "feel now as a group and how far they've come"? --evrik (talk) 19:21, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Well, that's arguably not interesting as presumably each recording act thinks they've progressed from album to album. For this to work it would need to reflect their going forward too? Blending nostalgia with the future? They referenced that the title has nothing to do with COVID and that it is coincidental, that they are not seeking to profit from relating in a pandemic.  — Calvin999 19:55, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT3:... that the name, sound and concept of the album What the Future Holds by Steps derives purely from the lyrics of the title track?  — Calvin999 20:00, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
  • I would be glad to approve ALT3 once a QPQ is used, which can be from an old review that hasn't been posted yet as one. SL93 (talk) 20:31, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
ALT4 ... that the reveal of the upcoming album What the Future Holds by the band Steps was teased by social media posts showing imagery of a crystal ball? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
ALT4a ... that the reveal of Steps's upcoming album What the Future Holds was teased by social media posts showing imagery of a crystal ball? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Speaking as someone who's never heard of the group before (although given I don't live in the UK, I'm not sure of their international popularity), the original COVID hooks mean nothing to me, but I think there's potential in a hook about how the album was revealed. ALT3 has some potential but I don't think album titles and themes being based on title tracks is an uncommon practice in music. If there's no other suitable alternative then ALT3 would be the best option here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
  • So far ALT3 is best but not great. The crystal ball image is also rather common and nothing specific to this music (which I still miss). ALT5 perhaps? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:53, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Gerda Arendt, Alt3 is already approved ... I think what is lacking is a QPQ. --evrik (talk) 23:47, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
By "approved" I mean a tick icon and the others struck, not only agreement. I still hope for something better, but have other jobs than finding one, like rescuing articles from draft space. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
  • That's true. I personally think we should go with the best one out of what we have so far. SL93 (talk) 23:48, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
@Calvin999: How's the QPQ moving along? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:03, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt and SL93: I found an old unused QPQ --evrik (talk) 01:16, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

  • @Calvin999: save your QPQ. We found one of your previous reviews not used before. --evrik (talk) 19:29, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
You can always ask at WP:RSN if you can request for an WP:IAR exemption to use The Sun for the article while stating the circumstances. After all, The Sun isn't really banned, it's deprecated (meaning its use is heavily discouraged, but may still be used in limited circumstances). @Narutolovehinata5: I think I will, because it was a direct interview, it was all quoted. Shame to not be able to use a whole interview with so much info because of what it was printed in.  — Calvin999 19:27, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
Put it in External links. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:10, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
I would say: promotional at best, ginned-up rubbish at worst. The Sun was deprecated as a source by a broad general RFC because it literally can't be trusted. If there is literally no other source for a claim than The Sun, then it shouldn't be in Wikipedia - and absolutely not on the front page of Wikipedia. Decorative usage doesn't really override that - David Gerard (talk)
I've gone ahead and left a message at WP:RSN. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:14, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
