It comes down to league reputation. Just like when organizations used to field multiple Jr. B teams in various levels. It will be up to the leagues and more specifically the teams themselves. If you have a reputation around the junior ranks for being a great organization, you'll be able to recruit better players. Obviously some groups are still going to use traditional set ups with the top team in one league and the 2nd team in another (e.g. EJHL and EmpJHL or AJHL and MetJHL).
Thanks for taking care of the Columbia Valley Rockies. I'll make the Chase Chiefs when more info becomes available. SportingFlyer 07:05, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
There's not as much information out there online as far as I can tell but I'm up for them. I'm not going to be around much for the next two or three months though so it could be slow. SportingFlyer 07:42, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
First, I thought you'd find this interesting ... List of WOHL alumni with links to hockeydb profiles. Second, I can't find the WOHL listed anywhere. Is it still on the to-do list, or am I looking in the wrong spot? Thanks ColtsScore 14:26, 12 June 2007 (UTC) Actually, I just found the WOHL at Western Junior B Hockey League. I've created redirects to the current article from "WOHL" and "Western Ontario Hockey League". ColtsScore 14:32, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
I went ahead and made stubs for the rest of the Pacific International Junior Hockey League teams. I don't know how long they will last without some sort of interesting facts about the teams or their alumni, but it may save the images for a while longer. Could you take a look at them and see if you can flush out the articles at least a little? ~ BigrTex 21:55, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey Devan,
I began recrafting the look of the hockey wikia, so far I added a background and a couple little things; let me know what you think. That's just a beginning, there are more changes I want to make, including a real logo (but Belfour with a Sens puck in the eye has class, lol), images in the articles background and customize various other things like the search box; I'm not too sure how to do these all yet, though.
If you have suggestions or feedback...

Don't you think we should improve the infobox then? nothing on wikipedia after all is a finished product, we should always be improving on it. Most, if not all NHL and OHL teams have a mascot, so why not have a line in the infobox for it? I'm not sure where it would be warranted in the article of many longer articles than the Goderich team, which is why I think it would be best in the infobox. After all, unless there is some importance to the mascot (say, historical event or a newsworthy kidnapping of a mascot) I dont see a section being made up in team articles.

Didn't mean to insult there. I know where the incorrect number of shots came from actually, it was incorrectly listed as such by the SIJHL. Not the fault of anyone on Wikipedia.
If there's something specific in terms photos one might need about the SIJHL I might have something to provide. Let me know. <Justinholmes (talk • contribs) 22:29, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the ((prod)) tag from Blake Parlett, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, it is best not to propose deletion of articles that have previously been de-((prod))ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the ((prod)) template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! TonyBallioni (talk) 23:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "((prod))" template to the article Delhi Travellers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the ((prod)) template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you have any information if another team in WOAA history has had a regular season losing streak similar or longer than the Dogs 70 games? Frontsfan2005 (talk) 16:56, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Hey. Just thought I'd get your opinion on some page moves that I want to make, as for the most part, you have the most edits on these pages. Basically, I want to move St. Catharines Falcons Jr. B to St. Catharines Falcons (1968–), London Nationals Jr. B to London Nationals (1950–), Sarnia Legionnaires Jr. B to Sarnia Legionnaires (1969–) and Sarnia Legionnaires to Sarnia Legionnaires (1954–1970) with a disambiguation page at Sarnia Legionnaires. The reason is pretty simple. Having the Jr. B monkier in the article name implies that that is their official team name, while in reality, it is only trying to differentiate from articles that already exist at the team name. In the case of St. Catharines and London, OHA teams exists, and I would say that they are more notable being a higher level league so they should stay where they are. However, with Sarnia it's a similar level league, thus the desire to make a disambiguation page at the team name. Anyways, with most team articles on Wikipedia now being differentiated by the paranthesis/year monkier, it only makes sense to move the pages. Would you agree? – Nurmsook! talk... 18:54, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I can work on updating the stats. I know that initially, I used T/OTL as that was how the AJHL itself did it in their media guide. They like to swap formats, it seems, as time goes on. Resolute 14:40, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Doing regular Wikignoming on Category:Template loop warnings I saw your page User:DMighton/BCHL Userbox. If you don't need this page any more, because the template BCHL exists now, you could nominate it for speedy deletion by putting ((db-u1)) on top. If you'd like to keep it you could fix the loop easily by moving the second and third parts to a documentation page.

I'll see what I can come up with during my research. As an aside, it is rather sad to see that there are now just two eligible leagues for the Allan Cup. At this rate, the trophy is probably going to end up being retired soon. Anyway, since you've done a lot of work with senior leagues, you might be interested in a discussion Alaney and I have had at his talk page where we are looking at the history of hockey. You might be able to provide a good overview of the rise and fall of senior hockey. Resolute 13:48, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I know very little about hockey so I may be missing something. I did notice that several of the teams don't have articles. But it seems to me that there should be succession boxes for the highest award in Junior B just as there is for the highest award in Junior A. Since the Sockeyes had a box for the Centennial Cup it seemed logical to me to put one for the Keystone Cup under it. I'm inclined to put it back and start putting in the others, but it won't be right now as I am headed to bed. I don't think our not having done so before is a persuasive argument in itself, unless you're saying Junior B level teams are less notable? Yngvadottir (talk) 21:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I did just want pictures of our beloved beagle on the beagle page. However, the pictures (maybe with the exception of bath time) were actually legitimate. She's an older beagle so I put a picture of her in the health section, because the section otherwise suggests that as beagles age they mostly deteriorate dramatically in health, and she is an example of a very healthy elderly dog. I put the picture of her at the bottom because it's talking about them being friendly dogs and popular because of their personalities and cute looks. Since you had a problem with that, I then tried to just put a gallery at the bottom for extra pictures. There are plenty of Wikipedia pages that implement the gallery function, and many users (like myself) come to Wikipedia looking for both information AND pictures - they are not unnecessary! Also, I am wondering why you took off the information about Brian from Family Guy and The Regal Beagle from Three's Company - not my contributions, but needlessy erased. You said they were uncited, but many of the other examples are not cited either, and with a short visit to the linked pages, you would see that the information is clearly accurate. I know that you think you are being helpful, but frankly you came off as thinking your opinion of the page is more important than mine or anyone else's, and that my wanting to put my pictures on the article was superfluous and unimportant. My "Wikipedia Police" comment reflects just that - you are a user just like me, so why should you repeatedly decide that my contributions are useless? P.S. That last "undo" wasn't even me! Hollakr (talk) 8 August 2009 —Preceding undated comment added 21:00, 8 August 2009 (UTC).
Just wondering why you reverted my edit on those pages, they are tier II junior A leagues. There are only 3 tier 1 leagues, and they are the major juniors.

Thanks, that's all really interesting, especially considering that the OJAHL has Junior A in it's name! Hopefully the OHF/OHA will get this information online (I haven't been able to find it). I agree completely that the term Tier II is archaic and needs to die, to help prevent conclusion. You can see here [1] that some OHL teams do still use "Major Junior A" though. This is likely just to meet regular standards expected by Ontarians (ie., not used by the league itself)MinRob (talk) 04:19, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll be updating the stats. I figure I'll do it after each round of the playoffs for the teams that get eliminated. Nice to see all three Metro Calgary teams in... it's been a rough couple years for the Royals and Canucks. Not that anyone has a prayer against Spruce Grove. I'm not sure there has ever been a Jr A team as good as they have been this year. Resolute 15:20, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
"BC Junior B
Hey, I see you are updating the different KIJHL team articles with final standings... how would you feel about building up these articles? Writing blurbs, searching out past standings, making better templates to make the articles look sharper... as well... the PIJHL and VIJHL need the same treatment. I've taken on the job of doing this in Ontario... and I need some counterparts doing this in other provinces... if you would be willing, it would be great... DMighton (talk) 05:29, 19 February 2008 (UTC)"
Sure! I'm sorry it took me 2 WHOLE YEARS to answer you. I just checked my "talk" page on my page. Since you have messaged me about this, I keep updating info, making pages "sharper", updating stats, and I put more info on Junior "B" and "A" teams in BC/AB. I have also created lots and lots of new pages for teams in BC and AB (for example just last week I created the page of the Osoyoos Coyotes)!. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NuckGhostriderTPB (talk • contribs) 04:54, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
I see you have made significant contributions to articles on hockey. Would you be interested in helping out with WP:CSPORT? If you'd like you could take charge of that section of articles. HalifaxRage (talk) 01:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Please add your thoughts regarding my proposal found at Category talk:Calgary Cowboys (WHA) players. Thank you. Dolovis (talk) 22:40, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Don't suppose you would have any sources with information on the Nelson Cubs eh? You seem to be the resident expert on Jr./Sr. hockey so I though I would ask you. Its up for deletion so any sources would be helpful. -DJSasso (talk) 00:43, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
I noticed you reverted some edits, but there is no point to having two articles for a team based in the same town with the same name. It is going to be expanded with information about various incarnations of the team across the many leagues. If you oppose, you can start a section on the talk page opposing this. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 02:11, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I have the page on my watchlist now. He is blocked for the legal threats and any account he used from the same IP will also get blocked automatically. So he should be shut down for now. If we see more accounts coming back trying to do the same thing then I (or you) will take it to the sockpuppet investigation page and go from there. But he is clearly adding POV weasel words to that article and being disruptive. I don't necessarily think its a COI because no serious organization would let themselves look bad like that in public. So its probably a fan or maybe a kid on the team, but not the actual team or coach themselves. -DJSasso (talk) 16:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 03:19, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I was going to post this on the talk page for the article, and I guess it could eventually get moved over there - what is the reasoning behind having the Midget AAA championships on the SJHL team page for years that the SJHL team wasn't in existence? Notre Dame had and has a Midget AAA team that runs exclusive of the SJHL team. If the team wasn't playing in the SJHL, they weren't an SJHL team, and if they were playing in a Midget AAA league, they weren't a junior team (which is what that article is about). Properly, shouldn't the succession boxes for those Telus Cup wins be on the school page (or whereever the boxes for the other championships are)? The SJHL players didn't port over to the midget team, it would be like any other team that ceased to exist in a league for a while. Canada Hky (talk) 21:48, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I do not have any playoff brackets for past AJHL seasons. I have a guide somewhere that listed the finals match-ups, but that was it. Resolute 18:58, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
This article is a mess. I just stumbled upon it. Since you are the resident junior guru I thought you might be able to clean it up or indicate if it should be prod'd for deletion. -DJSasso (talk) 01:52, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't have time to do them tonight but I will try to get to them as soon as possible. vıdıoman 03:18, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
CJHL is done. vıdıoman 09:32, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
SIJHL is done. I used a new base map so let me know if there is anything I can do to improve it. vıdıoman 10:56, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
GMHL is done, in the same style as the SIJHL map. There is a thumbnail problem that is affecting everything from the commons right now, so the image will appear "crushed", even if you use ctrl+F5 to refresh the page. If you save a version with the image was 251 pixels then revert that it seems to fix the problem but I don't want to do that for every page. Hopefully it is fixed soon. vıdıoman 11:20, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
OPJHL is done - File:OPJHL Team Locations.svg. If you think it is too cluttered I can replace some of the names in the middle to numbers and put them into a column on the side. vıdıoman 12:02, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know that the KIJHL teams articles are looking great because of my work! And no problem, I already started working on PIJHL/VIJHL pages last day!

Thanks for updating the Fernie Ghostriders 93-94 season-by-season-record! I couldn't find where the Ghostriders we're knocked out of the playoffs acording to http://icehockey.wikia.com/wiki/1993-94_RMJHL_Season
And do you know a website that shows season records for the awhl?

Hey. I left you a message on the Ice Hockey Wiki. 75.176.69.71 (talk) 04:40, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I copied the Dakota College at Bottineau men's ice hockey article, which was proposed for deletion. to the Ice Hockey Wiki. --Hockeyben (talk) 16:23, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't have any suggestions about other sources, but the Ottawa Citizen is available online through the news archives of Google. This is a search url for Frank McGee (you can click on Archives or custom range for dates) and here is the link for browsing the Citizen. Best of luck. ʘ alaney2k ʘ (talk) 14:59, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
How do I talk to you on here. I am not very good at this. I am from Summerside, PEI, so I know a bit about the MJAHL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh cat eyes (talk • contribs) 03:00, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
So you had some questions about the MJAHL. I suppose they likely are about the gaps in standings?--Josh_cat_eyes (talk) 03:15, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
I was wondering why the team histories were merged in the sidebar, and I prefer to think the anon. editor wasn't vandalizing, but actually trying to help thinking that the page was about the one with a longer history. Doesn't change my own POV and opinion, mind. The London Nationals of 1968 became the London Knights and the Nationals ceased to exist; as it was the same club, same city, and same building, the separate page isn't really needed. The Kingston Frontenacs have a similar history that should remain only merged, but I'll do one at a time. CycloneGU (talk) 22:28, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Greetings DMighton, I just thought I'd let you know that I saw your article O'Leary Eagles in the New Articles list-- The information is presented clearly and is easy to understand. Happy editing! Hope your day is going well and you are having fun.Amy Z (talk) 20:00, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! And yes, I've been able to find some old Jr. "B" BC standings by using what I'm sure you've heard before, the "Internet Wayback Machine" (web.archive.org); and Google News Archives. It's unfortunately supper hard to find these old stats and standings, because Most Jr "B" Websites only show them from recent years, and never, never show the Playoff Results! And thanks for letting me know about that website again, I'll put up those Stats on it, shortly. NuckGhostriderTPB (talk) 23:36, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
WHOA! Sorry about this very late two-month reply! Anyways, I don't know if you heard this since you last left a message on my Talk Page, but the 100 Mile House Wranglers did end up selling all those tickets, and looks like they will be a part of the KIJHL for the 2012-13 season! They even have an official website, facebook and twitter now (100milewranglers.com). And still no word about Junior "B" in Williams Lake or Quesnel. --NuckGhostriderTPB 01:20, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Hey, just thought I should let you know of some new Junior 'B' news...the new franchise "Nanaimo Buccaneers" have been added to the VIJHL. "The Nanaimo Buccaneers will play their home games Thursday nights at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. The team will play in the VIJHL's North Division along with the Oceanside Generals, Comox Valley Glacier Kings and Campbell River Storm … Phil Levesque said the Buccaneers name is a nod to history, as Nanaimo had a junior B hockey team in the 1970s called the Buckaneers."
ALSO, the "100 Mile House Wranglers" will NOT be in the KIJHL in the upcoming season. They were trying to buy the 2010's Keystone Cup champions, the Revelstoke Grizzlies, but to no prevail. Link 1 - Revelstoke Link 2 - 100 Mile House --NuckGhostriderTPB 23:13, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
UPDATE (about the VIJHL): I've e-mailed the VIJHL and this is what they told me..."We have had the Westshore Stingers bought out by some local business owners and they will be called the Westshore Wolves next season .......and the Nanaimo Bucs will also participate in the VIJHL next season..... so our club total will be nine teams 5 in the south and four in the north." --NuckGhostriderTPB 00:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi there, you seem to be one of the main contributors when it comes to the World Junior A Challenge article (and articles of the particular editions of this tournament). I just want to let you know I added some, in my opinion, rather important info to the main article - the fact that Russia is represented my the national u-18 squad. I'm not sure about 2006,2007 and 2008 tournaments, but the recent 3 (2009 to 2011) did feature the u-18 squad. Maybe it should be researched whether 2006 to 2008 also featured the u-18 squad and also add this info to particular articles (2006 to 2011). --IJK_Principle (talk) 06:35, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Hello, DMighton
I must apologize for my "WP:Edit War". I must have missed that message on my IP page. I was just following suit from previous pages I had seen. Now that I've noticed my mistake I will be sure to correct it next time.
Hopefully we can work together on other major junior, junior B,C,D pages in the future. SSFanJP (talk) 03:32, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Hey there, Let me explain to you something before the Wikipedia begins to blackout. The old article title Sarnia, Ontario was already renamed into the new title Sarnia and there is also disambiguated title called Sarnia (disambiguation). Also, all those old Sarnia, Ontario related categories was already speedy renamed into Category:Sarnia per Categories for discussion/Speedy to match the main article. So, could you talk to user User:SSFanJP never edit the link to "Sarnia, Ontario" and leave the link "Sarnia" per main article to avoid redirects or pop-ups and reply me back ASAP. Thanks.
