The USGS topographic map Lake State Recreation Area here shows Big Run flowing south southeast from the dam at Lake Deam into Muddy Fork. I have sources and ideas in Frog. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:20, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Dincher, I can make an article for Deam Lake Dam soon. When working on the Hope Mills Dam, I found a giant spreadsheet of all dams in NC that may be helpful. I can also find some other stuff as well and include info about the reservoir. It shouldn't be hard. Do you have a picture of the dam by any chance? With the rain in Hope Mills, were you hoping the lake would fill? Have they found a plan to repair it?--NortyNort (Holla) 04:25, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
When I looked at the state forest article, and compared the dot on Wiki to Google Earth's dot, they looked pretty close: both dots were in or on the far western edge of Geneva County. Where do you see the dot? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 22:29, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like a plan (and a lot of work). I added Nicholas T's UBSP pic to the article and fixed a dead link there. Thanks for uploading it. Some day, I imagine I might be at a park or state forest and run into Nicholas T (and I probably won't even know it). Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:19, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I fixed the dead links in both the Leonard Harrison and Colton Point state park articles. Both mention that the first three weeks in October are prime leaf watching season, and there are three November dates mentioned in each article (New Purchase, November 5, 1768), officially got current name (November 11, 1954 ), and Pine Creek in the parks officially listed on the state's wild and scenic rivers listing (November 25, 1992). Leonard Harrison was promoted on August 18, 2008, so it is over two years old, worth two points at WP:TFA/R. Colton Point was promoted to FA on October 11, 2008, so it gets one point before that date, and two after tomorrow. The most recent TFA on a park was Glacier National Park on May 11, 2010. At TFA/R they may possibly count History of the Grand Canyon area (July 4) or Leopold Report (June 28). So if we request a date before Nov. 11, that would be 1 point for no similar article in 3 months, and after Nov. 11 it would be 2 points. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:54, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
(out) Although I am not crazy about doing it, I will add the alt text - it is not that bad and there is a week or so to do it (so one or two a day). I really like the new photo of Forksville Covered Bridge - the only place I can see to put it would be in place of File:Forksville Covered Bridge Southwest.jpg. They are the same basic view, just Nicholas T's is much prettier. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that the current picture in the article shows the bridge and the general store, but the new one shows only the bridge. Is it better to have a decent pic with the store in it, or a really nice pic without the store? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:56, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello. I'm writing about a DYK you reviewed and approved last week for Isa Kremer. The hook was:
There are a few problems with the hook. First, that sentence in the article didn't have a footnote. Second, the only account of the riot is a 1923 interview by Kremer. (The article didn't say that until it had already run as a DYK.) Surely a deadly riot of 10,000 people in a major European capital would have attracted some attention from the world press.
We all make mistakes. In the future, please try to be a little more careful about reviewing and approving hooks for DYK. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 21:40, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on October 19, 2010. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 19, 2010. If you think that it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director, Raul654 (talk · contribs). If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! Leonard Harrison State Park is a 585-acre (237 ha) Pennsylvania state park near Wellsboro in Tioga County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It is on the east rim of the 800-foot (240 m) deep Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, carved by Pine Creek. The park is known for its vistas, hiking, fishing, hunting, whitewater boating, and camping. Native Americans used the Pine Creek Path; later used by lumbermen, it became the course of a railroad from 1883 to 1988, and the 63.4-mile (102.0 km) Pine Creek Rail Trail in 1996. The gorge, named a National Natural Landmark in 1968, is protected as a Pennsylvania State Natural Area and Important Bird Area, while Pine Creek is a state Scenic and Wild River. Although the gorge was clearcut in the 19th and early 20th centuries, it is now covered by second growth forest, thanks in part to the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The park is named for Leonard Harrison, a Wellsboro lumberman who cut the timber, then donated the land to the state in 1922. The park attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and was chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for its "Twenty Must-See Pennsylvania State Parks" list, which praised its "spectacular vistas and a fabulous view of Pine Creek Gorge". Congrats on Penn State's win and Joe Pa's 400th victory. It was a pretty exciting game. In case you hadn't seen, Nicholas T has been to Cook Forest again. This seems like it might be a good lead image. I can upload these if you want. Hope all is well, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:39, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi, since you reviewed Pedro II of Brazil when it was a FAC I thought you might be interested in taking a look at José Paranhos, Viscount of Rio Branco. The article is about a 19th century Brazilian statesman and it is strongly related to Pedro II's article. Thus, you'll notice that the subject is similar and quite easy to follow. I'd like to see your opinion about it and whether you support or oppose its nomination as a FAC. Here is the page: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/José Paranhos, Viscount of Rio Branco/archive1. Thank you very much, --Lecen (talk) 23:39, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

I saw you also reverted my edit on the Stillwater article about it appearing on NCIS. I had read what you wrote on the discussion page and tried to adhere the section to that, putting it in a "Popular culture" section, adding outside references from the CBS/NCIS website and trying to avoid in-universe writing. Still, I wonder what was wrong with it. Be sure to let me know. Thief12 (talk) 01:39, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

The EL is the official page of the Hyner Hang Gliding Club. I took it out of the Hyner Run article as the club page does not really mention that park. It seems like a pretty good EL for HVSP though. I am still busy IRL and need to work on the Buttonwood Covered Bridge article, but would like to work on HVSP after that. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:04, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi! Since you've been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian, I wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If that sounds like you and you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors during the current term, which started in January and goes through early May. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 17:19, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi, your userboxes indicate you went to East Carolina University. Do you happen to still have access to their library? I'm looking for this journal for the article Hypsibema missouriensis, but it's pretty hard to find because the journal went out of publication more than ten years ago and was never widely distributed in the first place. If you do have access to the university library, and even if you don't, please drop me a note on my talk page. Thanks! /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 22:11, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
