Huggle[edit]

Hi Adakiko, thanks for your great anti-vandalism work! I just wanted to ask a question regarding Huggle, what's it like to use it?

It seems very fast for sure, as I'm often outpaced by Huggle users (and AntiVandal Script too). Is it easy to learn the ins and outs? Can you skip warning levels?

Just curious. — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@AP 499D25: Huggle does have its issues. Sometimes it won't startup; not sure why. It occasionally seems to be operating nominally, but then I find it is not reverting or leaving warnings. The diff display changes which is sometimes a give away. If I want to skip warnings, I typically manually template the editor. There is the ability to give general warning of any level. I do like its AIV reporting feature. Just click on a a list of the editor's edits and it adds diffs to the list. The wp:UNAA doesn't work. I wish it would add a user's talk page to my watch list that expires in a week. My watch list gets unmanageable huge, so I have just turned it off. One does need roll-back rights to use Huggle. I recommend it. I also use twinkle a bit too. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 12:08, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see! I'll definitely give it a try one day when I feel like changing up my workflow a bit. Thanks! — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:20, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What in the world is Huggle? KeerthanaManiN (talk) 09:31, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@KeerthanaManiN: It is an anti-vandalism tool. See wp:Huggle and wp:recent changes patrol. Thanks for asking! Cheers Adakiko (talk) 18:59, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks a lot! 👍 KeerthanaManiN (talk) 09:42, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. @Drmies: thanks for fixing my blunders on Brian D'Arcy. I thought the whole OME sentence had just been added. EUI? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 17:55, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK--thanks. I have a habit of looking carefully at how IP editors are treated. If everyone would leave edit summaries many misses could be prevented, on all sides. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 20:45, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Coptic Orthodox Church[edit]

Hello. You reverted my last edit on Coptic Orthodox Church stating unexplained content removal. I did not remove any content. Can you please revert your edit or otherwise explain? Thank you. Epenkimi (talk) 12:14, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Epenkimi: you removed the Arabic translation w/o explanation. Adakiko (talk) 12:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually both the Coptic and Arabic translations were put as a reference and not even featuring in the article. I unmasked the reference to actually show what was hidden. I did not feel the Arabic translation was needed in this case since it's not language of the Coptic Orthodox Church, but certainly happy to discuss including it if you feel it's important. Thanks. Epenkimi (talk) 12:19, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are also stalking me and reverting my edits, such as in Karnak. Please stop this edit warring and please undo your changes on the Coptic Orthodox Church page. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Epenkimi (talkcontribs) 13:21, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Schanulleke. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Rob Kaman[edit]

Hi, as you didn’t respond on my talk page I asked it here again. Why did you revert these edits as vandalism per according to you “Manual of Style”? I ask it because I think you made a mistake there. I made the edits you reverted per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section#Alternative biographical names stating “If a hypocorism (diminutive) that is common in English is often used for the subject in lieu of a given name, it is not inserted into the name or given after it”. 82.174.61.58 (talk) 06:49, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Because you don't respond on both my talk page and here; and because in my option the edit is according to the Manual of Style as explained, I reverted your edit. 82.174.61.58 (talk) 08:27, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
