Welcome!
Hello By78, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, some of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a great page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type ((helpme))
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I have gone back and put back my edit. There appear to be a few things we do not agree on, but here is my two cents: First of all, the ordering of surname and first name should be along the lines of Asian tradition in order to show proper respect to the individuals whose names are mentioned. Having studied East Asian culture and interacted with quite a number of people native in Korea, Japan, and China, I have found that they all prefer to have their names, when appearing in Western literature, ordered with last names first. It is quite disrespectful to have their given names appear before their last names. If Wikipedia has a particular policy dictates otherwise, well, it is simply WRONG. If you read Japanese or Chinese, which I do, you would find that Japanese and Chinese sections of Wikipedia honor the Western tradition of ordering first and last names (i.e. first names first, last names last).
I agree on how the names should be that way. The articles for those players were that way when I created them, but since Wikipedia instilled this new policy, they must be listed this way on Wikipedia.
Second, Go Seigen's affliation should be "honorary member of the Nihon Ki-in", NOT "retired". It does NOT make any sense to state one's affliation as "retired". That is NOT the definition of the word "affliation". Thus, to indicate that Go Seigen is currently retired, it must be assigned to the category of "status".
I had not included this because I was incorporating the set template. My mistake.
Third, you added that Hashimoto Utaro would go on to found Kansai Kiin in the section listing Go Seigen's jubango opponents. This simply is NOT needed, as the entry focuses on Go Seigen, and should you feel you want to inform readers of Mr. Hasimoto's achievements, it should be added to his respective Wiki entry.
The reason I listed that is because it adds light to the fact that at the time, Utaro was a respectable go player and that Go Seigen defeating him was a noted achievement.
Lastly, it is convenient for the readers to have links to the various concepts and names mentioned in the article. This is simply good sense.
It is convienent, but especially with a long article like that, extra links leads to extra loading times. Not everyone has a fast connection, and I would doubt anyone would want to wait longer just for a few more links. Can 03:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:9Ppromotion.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the ((GFDL-self)) tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as ((Non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lupo 07:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:GovsShusai.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi By78!
We thank you for uploading Image:My Go Equipment 2.JPG, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Hi By78,
You have recently changed the image at Go (board game). I have started a section on that at Talk:Go_(board_game)#New_image_for_the_article. I have discussed pros and cons of both images there, and have asked whether you would be willing to make a new photo with some of the cons in the current one fixed. Please respond over there. Hello. I noticed that you and Chanakyathegreat use to revert each other's edit on this article, actually you are even accusing Chanakythegreat of vandalism for putting up referenced material. I find this a bit unfortunate since it doesn't help the article and from what I've read, you both seem to agree that there are several problems with the development of the Arjun, so why can't you just work together? Regards, De728631 (talk) 23:33, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:39, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
I had a lot of patience and had not reported you to Admins. Now I had done it. Why you instantly revert without any concern for accuracy of the article.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 02:49, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Jauerback was an irresponsible Admin, who himself acted in support of vandalism. I had not reported him to violation by an Administrator. He just said I don't care about the content. If the Admins are not taking care about the content, then it will be really bad for Wikipedia. Now tell me which is outdated information. I had only added information after the report submission by the army and the trial conducted after this. What problem you have with it. Chanakyathegreat (talk) 03:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Man if you are interested in the correctness of the article and want to contribute in a positive manner, I welcome it. After vandalizing the article and then accusing the other by saying you pushing your agenda, I don't argue with you is not worth it. Such things has no meaning. The only criteria is correctness of the articles. If you are interested you can contribute in a positive manner.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 03:16, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

I had replied. What is your opinion?Chanakyathegreat (talk) 16:13, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
The real reason for the incorrect version existence and you being able to insert stuff that are wrong is just because the Admins are hostile towards me and not sticking to rules. You cannot answer/prove simple questions being asked and still able to edit the Arjun MBT page because of the Admins (They have still not understood the issue properly or directly take sides). I can wait. No hurry.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 03:08, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
You have not replied.Chanakyathegreat (talk) 15:33, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't want to force anything of my own. It's left to the Admins to decide which wording they use. The only thing that I asked is instead of saying HM Singh said so, it must be that the Army report says so. The wording can be anything like From the report submitted by the Indian Army it says.. or The Indian Army report on the trial states... etc. It's left to them, i don't have any problem with the wording, only asking the content to be correct. The third link becomes useless because the reporter writes in contrary to the Army report and the Ministry of defence report. Hence it need to be removed. Chanakyathegreat (talk) 04:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I certainly empathize with you. For some further accusations of conspiracy, lies and blatant misrepresentation of sources, you need only look at his past edits and the great power archive. I hope this current dispute will be resolved eventually. If you need any help mediating and offering a third opinion, please feel free to leave me a note. I understand that you have a frustration with the info-box at this article and I can see that you have been attempting to adjust it in the back-ground. I have however reverted your complete removal of the box as that does not assist the situation and will cause further edit-warring at the page. Can I suggest you adjust the various components you do not agree with and provide references so that your case is supported by verifiable facts. I ask you to note that I am acting as an interested administrator in relation to this article and I do not have any particular opinion as to content - other than an info box should be present. Best wishes.--VS talk 01:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Core districts + inner suburbs is a common definition used in various statistical tables. Remember that List of cities proper by population is about the city proper and not the urban area nor the metropolitan area. Why choose a World Gazetteer definition for Shanghai but not other cities of China. At the very least, make your definitions consistent within one country. Are you prepared to do that? --Polaron | Talk 03:43, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
In response to your comments on my talk page, the World Gazetteer is not perfect. The article doesn't use it as a primary reference, but rather to fill in gaps when up-to-date figures are hard to find. And there is no sense in comparing Chinese city figures to Indian ones; the reason exceptions are made for Chinese cities is because the Chinese definition of a city is so broad that it tends to include rural areas. For example, Chongqing's city limits extend across a region the size of Austria, with a population of 40 million people, which would look ridiculous on a list. For this reason, people have been using "core districts + inner suburbs" for the city proper figure. The World Gazetteer doesn't make clear what area its figure applies applies to, so it hasn't been used. I'm not going to revert your edit, but I think this discussion should be continued on the talk page of the article. Someone the Person (talk) 04:00, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
You made a good point on my talk page, but look at other entries on Chinese cities. They all use "core districts," or "core districts plus inner suburbs." Beijing -- core districts and inner suburbs. Tianjin -- core districts plus inner suburbs. Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Shenyang -- all core districts. I didn't put those figures or those definitions there; they are already there. If you want to use a different figure for Shanghai, then I suggest that the figures also be changed for the other Chinese cities, for the sake of consistency.
This is why I want to use "core districts + inner suburbs": It's true that Shanghai outside of core districts + inner suburbs is still Shanghai and still urban, but the list is not trying to measure urban areas; that's the purpose of List of urban areas by population. As for who named me the City-Proper-Definition Czar, I don't think either of us is the City-Proper-Definition Czar. Wikipedia's policy is not to include original research, so the fact that you have spent so much time in Shanghai doesn't make you the City-Proper-Definition Czar any more than I am. If either of us wants Shanghai to be at a certain position on the table, we need to discuss it on the talk page with other users rather than edit warring. Once a consensus is reached on the talk page, that consensus stays. Someone the Person (talk) 21:38, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! STBotI (talk) 21:32, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Mumbai18.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 21:43, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Mumbai6.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:06, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
While you have great picture of the slums of Mumbai, it is not appropiate to keep on adding the one picture of Mumbai, as it's more appropriately placed in the mumbai article (after getting discussion), or poverty in India, dharavi, or slums. Especially on the largest cities page, where even though the other cities with pictures have large slums, especially Karachi, and yet those pictures are not being added for a reason. As it would be innappropiate there.Deavenger (talk) 03:10, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
You appear to have made some reverts lately on List of cities proper by population. Please be aware that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reverts on a single page within a 24 hour period. Rather than reverting edits, please consider using the talk page to work towards content that gains a consensus among editors. The dispute resolution processes may also help. Excessive reverting may result in blocking of accounts. --Polaron | Talk 02:13, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Hello By78, you have uploaded a lot of images and released them into the public domain. The images do not appear to have been personally taken by yourself and as their is an element of doubt we require some evidence that you took the images or that you have permission from their owners. You need to provide some evidence that you have permission from the copyright holder to release them into the public domain, please refer to the procedure at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. If permission or evidence is not provided them all you uploaded images will be removed. Thanks for you cooperation. MilborneOne (talk) 05:10, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
All of your images or media files have been listed for deletion. Please see Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 May 28 if you are interested in preserving them. Thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 21:13, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Your inclusion of *Rajasthan in a systematic fashion to a broad range of Romani related articles should be discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Romani people. In future, please also include a brief edit note to keep editors informed of changes you introduce. RashersTierney (talk) 00:37, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
You have recently removed some etymologies of the word "Cash" to Tamil, with the reason that the Aryan Invasion Theory and associated linguistics are false.
I do not think you understand what the Aryan Invasion Theory was - it was that White Indo-European speakers assimilated the dark-skinned indigenous peoples of India, and the evidence for it was that Indian languages spoken in the North were related to European languages (as to this day languages like Sanskrit, Hindi and Urdu are classified as Indo-European). Language has nothing to do with race; as an example, Turkish and Japanese belong to the same major language family (Altaic). The Tamil word Cash was a loanword and not a cognate word.
See List of English words of Tamil origin
GSMR (talk) 01:44, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
* Err.. not quite. Firstly, Tamil belongs to the Dravidian family of languages, which is completely unrelated to the Indo-European family. I am not arguing the location of the Urheimat; that has no relevance to my concern. A loanword is one that is borrowed from one language to another, whether these languages are related does not matter. I mean, rickshaw is derived from Japanese, but you would not classify English and Japanese as belonging to the same language family, would you?
From Microsoft's Encarta Dictionary:
cash [kash] (plural cash) noun small Asian coin: formerly, a coin of low value in China and some South Asian countries

"Sorry if that hurts your I-am-really-an-Aryan-German-despite-the-fact-I-am-from-India ego." Lol? I'm not one to fight fire with fire (or flame with flame) but intelligent arguments work for me. You should realize that the term Aryan has no racial connotations and refers only to language (that is, unless you are a neo-Nazi). Anyways, reporting to an admin for a Wikiquette alert. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on User Talk:GSMR, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:28, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive comments.
If you continue to make personal attacks on other people as you did at User Talk:GSMR, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please review Wikipedia's No Public Attacks policy. Racism and racist comments are one of the worst forms of public attack. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:36, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Acela Express. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --DAJF (talk) 01:38, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
This Thread at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Military_history concerns some of your edits and may be of interest to you.Nigel Ish (talk) 19:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I have blocked you from editing for 24 hours for edit-warring, reverting, and disruptive editing across multiple articles. When your block expires, you are welcome to contribute productively. This means discussing content differences with other editors rather than reverting them and arguing in edit-summaries, and pursuing dispute resolution if necessary. If you continue disrupting Wikipedia in this way, your next block will be longer. EyeSerenetalk 21:18, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I was checking out some military articles, and have in many cases surprised to see Indian claims at developing incredible arms etc. Good job on removing some of the Indian triumphalistic (read false) claim on so many articles on Wiki. I know there are still many out there. - Ben Coulton —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.22.83 (talk) 14:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I noted your posting on coolcesear's talk page. That user regularly engages in very abusive behavior, and I encourage you to submit a complaint. I have tried to reason with the user, but without success. If enough of us submit complaints, maybe something might actually happen. Zoticogrillo (talk) 03:59, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Regrading your revert of my edit, please see the discussion I've started at Talk:Skyscraper#Removal of APIIC Tower from Future Skyscrapers. Astronaut (talk) 23:39, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm not the one changing articles and adding totally irrelevant facts to the article about ANOTHER country. If you revert the edit, I will report YOU for vandalism. Wikipedia is not a place for you to make your political statements, do it elsewhere (like your youtube profile: http://www.youtube.com/user/by78). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vedant (talk • contribs) 04:28, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello, By78. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 23:30, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
In response to the slow-moving edit war that you are engaged in on this article, with a distinct lack of working together to overcome the issues on the article's talk page, I have fully-protected the article, and the article will remain so until a compromise is agreed upon. Also, I will not hesitate to also protect Arihant class submarine if you begin to edit war on that article as well. -MBK004 02:28, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps you did not take full advantage of the revision compare feature but I never removed the information from world bank articles, I simply relocated them to the issues page. I have reverted your edits as the basis for them is not valid. I hope you will take time in the future to more properly review edits before changing articles however I assume you are acting in good faith. Vedant (talk) 00:36, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Let me also add that I do not believe your edits are required as I have already made clear that issues exist with the road network. In addition I feel that your edits are haphazard and seem to be pushing an anti-neutral POV. If you want to take this to the Administrator level please feel free to do so as I can easily justify my edits. Vedant (talk) 02:29, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Using the port of Singapore is acceptable, you can also use images from Rotterdam or New York to illustrate. Vedant (talk) 02:11, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

In the page Hybrid vehicle you appear to have made a Revision as of 02:37, 13 July 2009. You added text and some references. Two of those reference tags, <ref name=F3DM/> and <ref name=bwf3dm/> appear to be causing cite errors. Could you please go back and fill out the full sources to fix the cite errors. Thanks. 75.69.0.58 (talk) 00:34, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stock market. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 17:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/By78. Thank you.
Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I'd like to bring to your attention a thread on the admin noticeboards in which you've been mentioned: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#To the extreme. I'm not entirely sure what the posting user is looking for, but I thought you might want to know about it. Feel free to comment there, if you like. Thanks for your time. – Luna Santin (talk) 17:28, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
It has been established that you engaged in sockpuppetry by evidence presented here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/By78, and you are therefore blocked for a period of 2 weeks. You're welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text ((unblock|Your reason here)) below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. The block also includes your continued disruption and edit-warring on various pages. MuZemike 17:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
So, how was the break? You know, I thought another week would have done well to help you learn your lesson about sockpuppetry, given that the first block did not stop you... and so you could participate in the 60-year anniversary of the PRC, you know, being a PLA officer and all. Well, they mustn't be busy now. Welcome back! Love, Cattl- ah, GSMR (talk) 16:25, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
