Administrators who have been desysopped due to inactivity are now required to have performed at least one (logged) administrative action in the past 5 years in order to qualify for a resysop without going through a new RfA.
Editors who have been found to have engaged in sockpuppetry on at least two occasions after an initial indefinite block, for whatever reason, are now automatically considered banned by the community without the need to start a ban discussion.
There will soon be a calendar widget at Special:Block, making it easier to set expiries for a specific date and time.
Arbitration
The Arbitration Committee is considering a change to the discretionary sanctions procedures which would require an editor to appeal a sanction to the community at WP:AE or WP:AN prior to appealing directly to the Arbitration Committee at WP:ARCA.
Miscellaneous
A discussion has closed which concluded that administrators are not required to enable email, though many editors suggested doing so as a matter of best practice.
The Foundations' Anti-Harassment Tools team has released the Interaction Timeline. This shows a chronologic history for two users on pages where they have both made edits, which may be helpful in identifying sockpuppetry and investigating editing disputes.
I saw the recent April Fools malarky and it reminded me to do something I have been meaning to do for some time. This is simply to thank you and your co-conspirators for your work in defeating vandalism via ClueBot. This clever device's activities are, for me, the single best improvement to have been made here since I began editing in 2006 and I am grateful every time I see it on my watchlist. Thanks again - and good luck with the next RfA... BenMacDui 18:08, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
Why did CB3 break on my page?
I don't know, but it broke on my page. Sincerely, TintedFate 17:25, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
There is nothing to archive on your page. You set the bot up to archive after 24 hours, and then didn't even wait 24 hours for your test. The bot doesn't run every hour anyway, only every few hours. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 17:55, 5 April 2018 (UTC)`
The activity of the bot stopped there. It didn't even archive anyone else. Sincerely, TintedFate 18:13, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
Working as intended. Your page was at the end of its run, since it was the latest page added. No threads to archive, so it created the housekeeping pages and then went to sleep. 6 hours later, as designed, it woke up and started from the top again. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 18:54, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
