Hi. It seems that you declined the request for protection of Colosseum at near-on the exact same time as I semi-protercted it for six months. If you look at the protection history, it's been semi-protected repeatedly, the most recent lasting two months, but a previous one lasting five months. Each time the protection ended, the vandalism has restarted, hence my reasoning that protection was needed, and my protecting it for a longer period of time. As we seem to have accidently cut across each other, what do you suggest we do? TalkIslander 00:25, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Protection is fine. I just declined it because I blocked the two persistent vandals, but chances are more IPs will vandalize anyway, so protection is OK. jj137 00:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thanks :) TalkIslander 00:34, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
why did you deleted the article on Jacob Root
yo dude, the page on Jacob Root had plenty of significance. you are a bad editor. restore the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.65.26.140 (talk) 00:51, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Actually, it didn't have any significance, and I'm not going to restore it. Please review over WP:N. jj137(talk) 01:27, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Username
Why don't you find out my new username for yourself? (I'm sure you know where to go) I have no idea why I made it that - but what the heck. And yeah, its available. - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 02:13, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. How long will it take? Also, is this the reason why random "Database Locked" warnings come up? - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 02:18, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm..... many articles I have seen use [<ref here>] when putting a reference. Maybe you could have the script replace it with <ref><ref here></ref>. Don't know, just a thought. I uploaded 1 more images on FPC, please vote. I wish you can add an image (a small one) to your signature, you know exactly what I would add to my new username :) - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 03:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Not exactly. Go to my drafts, and look at the last section in the Calvinism section. First of all, that is not true. Second see how the reference is put? You can always change that to like the other references are. I haven't seen many articles like that, but I have seen a good amount. - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 03:07, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. Yikes! Ron Paul is during TERRIBLE for featured article. I knew I should asked you to have removed the semi-protection! Curse me!!!! (Don't bother voting, it's done) - like 20 opposes, 0 supports. :(. "Wait till next year" - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 03:12, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
And I thought it was ready - 142 references, the article is written unbelievably, I can't believe its a lot of opposes because of the protection. :``( Was going to be my first successful featured article, rather featured anything. Oh well. - OhmpandyaWe need to talk... ♦ contribs 03:17, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. RC-0722 (talk) 20:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
He deleted your reminder. I warned him again but I doubt it will go anywhere. RC-0722 (talk) 04:41, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Why is he allowed to continue? He gets into more disputes with more users than anyone i've ever seen. He seems to belive that he's the judge/jury when it comes to football related articles. He drives people away from articles, discussions & projects. Heck, because of him i've virtually lost all inclination to edit at all. 192.35.35.35 (talk) 19:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. He's so provocative. RC-0722 (talk) 19:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
That's pretty bad. I'm relatively unfamiliar with him, but I can see from his discussions he's not exactly friendly– and his block log shows this has gone on before (11 blocks). jj137(talk) 21:12, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I've never had any trouble with him (directly), but my bud RC has had alot of trouble with him. He's never bugged me though... :-) Burner0718 (talk) 04:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Username ---> Approved :)
Yay! It was approved. Got to make a lot of changes to my pages now. Also in my signature, how can I make each word link to a different place? "Milk's" should link to my userpage, "Favorite" should link to my talk page, and "Cookie" should link to contribs. Can you do this without changing the font, and the size? - Milk's Favorite CookieTalk 20:27, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
That's exactly how I wanted it! :( - wont fit :(. I'll just have to get rid of "contribs link" at the end - oh well. Thanks!, I don't mind it that way at all. - Milk's Favorite CookieTalk 21:03, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I have an idea, how about placing the sig in a subpage, and placing ((subst:User:Ohmpandya/whatever the subpage name is)) in the signature box. jj137(talk) 21:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
You're too good. :) Thanks for the help, again..... - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:12, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Yep, well it didn't work above, I manually fixed it -.- cause I missed a "{" in the signature tag. Whoops...! But yeah, I was shocked as well, I thought it was going to go "Invalid signature tag, check...". But it worked :) - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:16, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Question: How do you get...hmmm.....can't think of the word. Those "show" and "hide: things. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about. Thanks! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:47, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

---The List----
Did you know they released an updated list of the most active contributors? If I remember correctly, the list used to be on your user page. Your # 914! I'm like 2000 and something. But you went closer a lot from the last version. I'm just happy to be on the list :) - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 00:36, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
I just moved the link to the bottom of the page. You're #2286! jj137(talk) 01:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, never saw that! (at your bottom of your userpage) Just happy to be on the list :). Guess it won't say my new username till next month? And...oh...yeah, now this was stupid. This was last month, when I first saw your userpage, and saw a link to the list, I thought the #1 contributor had 17 thousand something edits. I was amazed at that! Then I found out I was a *little* off :).More like by 100,000. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 01:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, when did wikipedia start - 2001 I believe? thats, hmm..... 2190 days. So...175,000 divided by 2190 equals 79 edits per day. I suppose its possible, but its crazy. I mean thats if the guy joined in 2001. Hold on...Ok... Rich Farmbrough (example) joined in 2004. So math again...1095 days. Ok. 175,000 divided by 1095 is 160 edits a day or something. I suppose its possible - buy everyday?! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:01, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
2 more images. Take a look. For the flower one, which (in your opinion) is better Original or Edit 1. Seems to be ups and downs. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:11, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Are you going to vote? Yeah, I think edit 1 is better to. He's got a point with the distracting flower. Also, hopefully these don't go bad. I hate it when one person votes oppose, and like 20 others after that vote saying "Oppose per ______________. Hopefully it won't happen sometimes. I'm not sure if you saw the message on top of the above one. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Yep. I made 175 edits one day. Notice the key word: "one" - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
AOTM
Ok for ATOM, how do we get some first nominee's? And we need people to vote. Do you know any extremely good admins, I can think of a couple :) - we could always "select" these - create a template and sent it to them. And then we can create a template and invite other random people to vote? Would that work? We will get it figured out tomorrow. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, you have a point about that. So, how do we get it started then? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:14, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Alright. :( - When someone gets nominated or self-nominate, how can you have a certain text appear, when they click nominate? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Great! Thanks! - How do you think people came to things like Wikiworldcup? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
And...so many other projects... Wait. How did you get a lot of people to WP: BOSOX? That might help. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 23:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh. -.- This is like useless - if we can't get anyone to participate :( Should I give it a shot (sending nominations to admin's). I mean I'm sure they would be happy to recieve something like "Admin of the Month" or something. Click here for a template. Obviously the last sentence will have a link. If you really think this is a bad idea - I obviously won't do it. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 23:09, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Like really good - you see him make a good amount of edits every day - he/she knows what their talking about - you know what I mean. Still no one? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 02:18, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
You know of any good admins? I gotta think first. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 02:16, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Image
Looks like the Peyto Lake is easily gonna pass :)...unless of course.... And Edit 1 looks good for the flower image. Oh yeah, BTW the exact image that I thought would never pass, might pass. Have you voted on the Cape St. Vincent image yet? Alt. 1 looks awesome. The original is rather terrible :(. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 20:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, also if you consider edits with AWB, my high in one day would be around 3000 :) - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 20:41, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
But I mean... clicking start all day is boring, but with a wireless mouse you just keep clicking, while watching a movie or something :). - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Added a message to AOTM (above) - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:19, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, its pretty fun, unless you get a new message and you find out you have been clicking for no reason for an hour :(. I meant the AOTM section above. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:19, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Query on what seems like a sensible username block
Hi, you seem to have a lot of experience on en-wiki, including with WP:U. I am hoping I could learn a bit more about how WP:U is used in practice. I noticed you blocked the username Forsvarsmuseum. I guess you blocked it because it was a group or role-based username in violation of WP:U#Company.2Fgroup_names? I'm still learning the ropes on WP:U, and would appreciate it if you had the time to explain this one. Hope that's ok. - Neparis (talk) 00:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
You're right, it was the name of a museum (this was the original request at WP:UAA). Note having the name of a company as your username does not get you an automatic username block, but if there's a conflict of interest, then that can be seen as a problem. jj137(talk) 02:10, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I noticed a while ago that Defence Museum seems to be either a sock or a replacement account that began editing a similar set of Danish military related articles just after you blocked Forsvarsmuseum. I am unclear whether the username is a violation of WP:U#Company.2Fgroup_names, and would very much appreciate hearing your opinion. I'll continue watching your talk page. - Neparis (talk) 02:25, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm hesitant to block the second guy because: firstly, he hasn't edited in several days, and if it looks like he comes back and has a COI, then I may give him a u-block (I gave him a simple warning on his talk page). Most of his edits seem to be good faith (the other guy's looked like it somewhat too, but it looked like he also may have just been "playing around" with images). I'll keep an eye on this guy. jj137(talk) 02:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the excellent explanation. I think I have a better understanding now of how WP:U is meant to work. - Neparis (talk) 03:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
That's good. It's pretty simple, once you get used to it. jj137(talk) 03:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: AOTM
Hmmm.... True. Of course, we could always have a section that says "If you think you should be nominated by the moderators please put your name on this list..." or whatever. -- Something like that, would that work? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 02:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmm.... How to explain.... Well, wait..... how are we going to get the whole thing started, without doing that We need to invite some people (admins)? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 02:47, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure - BTW Do you have Quickedit? - Oh yeah, also can you vote on one more image, i recently nominated. Also, Cape St. Vincent image took a total turn of events, everyone is voting "Support Alt 1" now, check it out vote if you like it. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:06, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
It's like "Quickedit" :) -- Ok there is this link to the edit button called "Quickedit" - you click on it - and without anything changing an edit screen appears, you make your changes, everything is still there though - you can see the whole page - and once you press submit the screen goes away your changes made - it's "quick". Try it - it's pretty good. I know I just made a terrible description - give it a try. Also, when I add new things to my JS a lot of other things stop working... :( - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 03:14, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
DuPage vandal
Hi. You might have notice already, but the guy who is on a vandalism spree on Illinois-related articles, such as DuPage County, Illinois, seems to have some sleeper accounts created early in January. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 03:37, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

What are the specific rules about editing one's talk page? Can comments be removed once they have been read? Proxy User (talk) 06:56, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you are allowed to remove messages from your talk page once you have read/understood them. Some users choose to archive them. jj137(talk) 21:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "((prod))" template to the article Pulicalvaria, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the ((prod)) template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Scripts
Hey. Could you make a script similar to the edit summary thing which would add:
to the articles and automatically insert "assessment" as an edit summary? There would be a tab on the top obviously, you would only need to click it and everything would come up - you did this for the edit summary thing remember? Thanks! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 16:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure! Should the tab only appear on certain pages (probably just Talk namespace)? jj137(talk) 16:28, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes that would be better, don't want it to overcrowd with other tabs on normal pages. Thanks for the help. Also, is there a list that shows all Celtics related articles? I found one with all Celtics Players on it, but obviously thats not everything. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 16:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I can do it myself. Thanks again. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 16:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
BTW is there anything that when you highlight something, it will automatically insert [[ and ]] around it. I need this for something. Thanks! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah - I had the script in my monobook waiting for it to work - I thought something has gone wrong. Hmmm.... did you follow the same format as you did for the edit summary thing. Also can you answer the question on top? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 00:46, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry about it if it doesn't work. Thanks for trying. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 00:53, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I suppose I can do it manually. Also, I'm going to up my goal to 13000, because I made a lot of edits today, I created 40 new articles, and right now I have 10,600 edits :) - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 00:57, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Idea
How bout a rollback so you can rollback to the last user's edit of your choice or the last user? I've been seeing edits from back to back different IPs, and that can cause some trouble if you're trying to revert vandalism. --HPJokerLeave me a message 17:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
You can. When you view the history, click on the date of the version you want to rollback to. You will be viewing an old version. Click edit on the page, and you'll be editing the old version; when you save, the page will go back to that version. jj137(talk) 00:24, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah. I only saw part of the game till the middle of the 3rd quarter - Celtics were losing. Did they win? I could look it up on NBA.com...but heck... - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 01:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Just trying to stay on the safe side. I don't have a problem with it being unprotected though. jj137(talk) 02:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
I have no problem with the protection but was curious over it, I usually protect pages that receive vandalism on a daily basis like Chupacabra, those that are difficult to keep vandalism free. - Caribbean~H.Q. 02:16, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

The "great turning" page was deleted earlier this month. The reason you gave was:
"There was an expired PROD tag, the concern being: lack of independent reliable sources to establish notability. jj137 ♠ 02:13, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Being new to Wikipedia, I was unaware of what a PROD tag was. Otherwise I would have objected to the deletion at that time. So here's my argument about why this is noteworthy as a topic and should be reinstated.
The "Great Turning" refers to a view of history and a movement promoted by David Korten and Joanna Macy, both noteworthy authors who have their own wikipedia articles. (The articles for both of these authors now have "dead links" pointing to the deleted "great turning" article). David Korten has a book published called "The Great Turning". Both David and Joanna have authored numberous articles in various magazines on this topic, and have multiple videos on the subjet on YouTube and other web sites. David Korten has an entire web sited devoted to information and resources related to the Great Turning: http://thegreatturning.net/
Independent resources are a little harder to find on the web, but I can point to the following.
David Korten has given presentations at multiple conferences, and at least one religious institution (Unitarian Universalists for a Just Economic Community) has taken on the Great Turning as one its major themes.

You are always welcome to recreate the article, as long as there are independent reliable sources cited that establish notability, which there were not last time. However, there are no guarantees the article won't be deleted by someone else. jj137(talk) 20:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
RFA
Think I should try one? Just asking.... Thanx! --HPJokerLeave me a message 04:29, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... well, that's your decision, but whenever you do, I'd be willing to nominate you (if you want). Just checked, you have exactly 1600 edits right now; most voters will look for at least 2000-3000; you may also want to work on more edit summary usage (there's a thing in Special:Preferences where it will always remind you if you forgot to leave an edit summary). Other than that, you're doing pretty good. jj137(talk) 20:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Are you an imagemap fan? Victuallers (talk) 13:23, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Why don't you start a new topic? Or stop spamming. Whatever you're doing. --HPJokerLeave me a message 15:17, 29 January 2008 (UTC) Oh I'm sorry Thank you for being so civil. Actually I should not have joined in to your conversation, sorry, .... but being as I am here can I tell you that its the strangers you meet who vote at your RFA when you get there. Victuallers (talk) 23:09, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
images
Yes, well Im keen on them and there seens little users about. I was hoping to create a special interest group of two or three. e.g. Do you have a gallery? do you store them on commons? should we use a template to protect the code? Victuallers (talk) 20:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
((Gunpowder plotters))
Protecting the code ... Victuallers (talk) 22:03, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Did you look at the code? My only point was that all the numbers etc are stored away inside the Gunpowder plotters template. When I change this template then about 8 or 9 articles all change. Could you send me a diff to one of your image maps? Victuallers (talk) 22:20, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
No its not anti vandal but anti fiddle. After you get the same image map in 8 or 9 different places then you can get 8 or 9 different versions if they all get ediited. Oh and use this tool for creating clickable imagemaps. Its quite easy but not 100% obvious. Tell me when you get stuck Victuallers (talk) 23:00, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Couple of Things
Could you delete Kieran Davies - It's nonsense. Also, anything on the archives? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 20:47, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Y Deleted it. Haven't had a chance to work on the archives yet; just got online for the first time today (although I think I have an idea of what to do). jj137(talk) 20:53, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
No Idea :( - It was 1-2 months ago - I kept forgetting to tell you. I remember them saying (the radio host) "Wow, so you've made over 90,000 contributions..." (something like that). BTW, can you believe it?: Theres this guy with 91,000 contribs and hes not an admin! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:15, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
BTW, did you know User: Rudget retired - just a few days after he became an admin - weird... - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Again IDK - didn't he retire as well? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:16, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh- well I just looked at his talk page - and well... its blank, no archives either and no userpage, so...- Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:25, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, you're right - he made over 500 edits today! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
You wrote "You are always welcome to recreate the article, as long as there are independent reliable sources cited that establish notability, which there were not last time." Ok, I will do that, and add some additional sources. Please tell me there is a way to restore the original text article somehow. I spent a long time creating it, but didn't save a copy for my own records.

He was blocked for 31 hours. jj137(talk) 23:32, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
He's back. Can you perm block him? Or can you lock my page so only users can edit it? --HPJokerLeave me a message 01:09, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Your Signature
I don't want to sound mean or uncivil, but it seems that when you changed your signature, all of your old ones changed to your new one. If you are using a template for your signature, that is a violation of WP:SIG. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox! 20:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I'm not using a template. Could you give me an example of what you're talking about? jj137(talk) 20:57, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
What I mean is that using a template in your preferences would be a violation, such as putting in something like ((User:Jj137/signature)) as your sig would be against WP:SIG. Maybe I just didn't notice the change. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox! 21:00, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, if you were wondering, I made this mistake last June [2] when someone notified me of it. When I asked for an example, what I meant to say was where my old signature changed. jj137(talk) 21:04, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I remember you having a spade or club in subscript above your signature, and looking through your archives, realized you haven't left me a message in a while, making me not realize you had changed it. THis led me to think that you were using a template, but I now realize that you are not. Sorry for the mistake. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox! 21:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
If that sounded confusing, what I meant was your talk page was so long that I thought it dated back a few months. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox! 21:16, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Did you finish? If you did can you add it to my talk page just like the other one. Is it possible for the TOC to be in the center of them, and the TOC can scroll up or down? Second, I just want to assess all these articles. Can I have them in AWB, with all of them linking to talk pages? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, yes I get that (the TocCenter thing). But how do I have it scroll up and down? - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:10, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, well, I don't want the archives to scroll, just the TOC, which will be in the center. Can you make that work? And the archives will be surrounding it. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure! Here is a link where you can edit it. Thanks! - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:25, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Yep, I clicked on my talk page, and it was all messed up - don't worry take your time, and oh yeah, I don't mind if you click "Save" instead of "Show preview". It's not like my talk page is ruined forever on anything. ANd good point about the images linking to Oreo. I will go do that. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 21:42, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
First, thanks for trying! Next, I posted it. - Milk'sFavoriteCookie 22:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
