Speedy deletion nomination of Clinton Babers[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clinton Babers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://soundcloud.com/clintonbabersmusic. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: ((unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~)).  Widr (talk) 19:49, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi Guys, I handle all Digital and social media for Clinton Babers and the Clinton Babers Music brand. In creating the wiki page for the brand, I was blocked i'm guessing due to verifications of information. What I can do is from here on, cite the verifications and articles as we go instead of waiting until the end. Also we've realized that we cannot use the same info we have used on the other sites. With that im hoping we can find a speedy resolve.

Decline reason:

This is not why you were blocked. See WP:COI and WP:PROMO. It's inappropriate for you to use Wikipedia for advertising, though I understand why this wasn't immediately obvious. Yamla (talk) 20:10, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the ((unblock)) template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Ahhh, Just realized where we went wrong here! Sorry about that guys... So, everything should be in an form of information instead of advertising/promotion. Understanding now how we went about it entirely wrong makes sense. Also see where the COI plays into the block as well... Lets make some changes and reach for a resolve asap. Hope this makes sense to you guys. Thank you so much

Accept reason:

Yes, I Do understand

As it appears to me Wikipedia is its own structure, and to keep plagiarism at a zero tolerance, I cant copy from other sites. Which in turn make searching and search engines independent from duplication and copyright infringements. Plus wiki is not for advertising, but for direct informational purposes, as I understand it.

Wikipedia is licensed under a free license. That means that anyone is free to use material from Wikipedia for any purpose (including commercial purposes) as long as they attribute the authorship to Wikipedia users. That is why Wikipedia is called "free encyclopedia": text may be freely used for any purpose. When you write Wikipedia articles, you accept that terms of use. That is why it is not allowed to copy-paste someone else's text into Wikipedia. That text is not free to use because its author did not agree to Wikipedia's terms of use. By copying that text into Wikipedia, you misrepresent it as being free to use, while it is actually not. That is not just against Wikipedia rules, but is also illegal. I'm unblocking you now, but be sure to understand this important principle. Do not copy someone else's text or images. You may only write your own text and upload images created by you.
