Although I am the original page creator, I acknowledge that I did not know as much about Wikipedia policy when I originally created it, as I do now. This article clearly fails WP:GNG and WP:NOTNEWS. Other than having been mentioned in the 2019 State of the Union Address, there is nothing particularly notable about it. This is a rather run of the mill gang shooting. A Google search limited to results from the last six months brought up nothing immediately related to the subject of the article. • Delete Original nom (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2019 Queens subway shooting) was influenced by WP:RECENT mentions in the 2019 SOTU intended to scare-monger and a now-blocked editor who harangued everyone who argued a delete vote!. I have heard nothing about the trial and in the intervening twelve months, so like I said 'in 6-12 months', no new WP:N (outside this story where an gang attempt at revenge failed which is pretty much WP:ROUTINE as the Daily News doesn't even mention the SOTU furor) has been built. • Delete This was a local gang-related shooting and NEWS story that received heightened attention because, since it happened 2 days before the SOTU speech, the President chose to use it for political purposes. Therefore the incident is useful as a mention in the 2019 State of the Union address and the MS-13 articles, where it currently appears, but it doesn't rise to the level of a noteworthy historical event befitting an encyclopedia article. Tellingly, it is not even listed in Crime in New York City. As others have noted, there has been no WP:LASTING coverage. StonyBrook (talk) 11:46, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
• Delete. Like I said at the last nomination, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2019 Queens subway shooting, While tragic, this appears to be a run-of-the-mill gang shooting. It is probably not notable as a standalone article per WP:NOTNEWS and WP:CRIME. It still holds true today. The only significant coverage it got was that president Trump mentioned it.
