Qwertyus that is strange. But the WP article is about the "township" and the CBS article refers to it as a village ("Voters in Cormorant elected a dog named Duke by a landslide. The 12 people in the village each paid $1 to cast a vote."). Maybe the majority of the township is unincorporated and that could account for the difference.
