Came up in 2006 and was deleted as a joke article. As far as I can tell, it appears to be a joke article again. I do find a little use of the term "No-shave November," especially in campus newspapers, but I don't know as it's enough to confer notability. I can see an argument being made for cutting out all the "humorous" parts and leaving as a stub to be built on, but I thought it better to defer to the wisdom of the crowd. --some jerk on the Internet (talk) 15:57, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per lack of third-party sources, maybe just mention it in the Movember article. I was cutting back the obviously jokey stuff at the same time as this AfD went up, but it looks like much of the remaining material isn't intended to be serious (the "Celebrities Who Participate in No Shave November" list is just noshember.com saying "we noticed that this celebrity had a beard in November"). --McGeddon (talk) 16:01, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Weak keep / merge after the jokes were taken out and sources added. • Keep I was the writer or this article and I originally was going to merge this with Movember but Movember only grows mustaches for charities, which is much different than not shaving at all. They actually have rules about only having mustaches. I can see your points about removing the jokiness, and sticking to the hard facts. I think that is wise and if left up, I will continue to add to the article with mentioned guide lines. Doing a search for No-Shave November in twitter brings up several thousand mentions.   • This is not a reason to keep at all. The "most trending topics" on Twitter frequently include random jokes and memes which are clearly transient and not notable. You have to come up with actual coverage treating the topic or phenomenon in depth. Take a look at today's "trending topics," which include "#ThingsICantLiveWithout," "#DoctorsBetterThanConradMurray," and "Twitter THUGGIN." These are all silly jokes. • Keep Movember does occur during the same month, but this does not mean they are they same event. Movember is clearly described as being an event for men to promote awareness for men's health issues. No-Shave November is much broader, and encompasses charities of all kinds, is for men AND women, and is not only focused around the event. Oftentimes it's simply much bigger than the event, it's about general "unkemptness" for what ever reason the participant chooses during the month of November. A general lack of grooming of hair on the face and body is the best way to describe how to participate in No-Shave November, not just growing a mustache. In fact, if you were to just grow a mustache, it would be against the general guidelines of No-Shave November. • Keep No-shave November is something that everyone is doing now-a-days. Not for the sole fact that it's trendy but most people now know what the cause is(previously stated by other people). There is no reason for this page to be delete. There is a cause for it. Keep the cause going! • Comment: While I do think that some of the keep votes have somewhat weak bases, I would much prefer they be challenged on that basis and I strongly disagree with Neutrality's assertion that the IP addresses and user accounts who have low edit counts should have their opinions discounted.
