- Nominator's rationale: Rename in the spirit of WP:C2D per ((Year in country portal box)). It does not qualify for CFDS because it I only renamed earlier today per WP:TPN (which says we should use standard English spacing for template names), so I am bringing this to a full CFD. - Nominator's rationale: I created this cat, but I am on the fence for keeping it as a separate cat or merging with Category:American militiamen. Before trying to populate it further, I'm initiating this discussion to get additional opinions to determine if it should remain as a distinct category. Provincial troops in America, before gaining independence, were generally used in units raised by provincial governors and have differences as noted here. In some cases, provincial troops as loyalists would oppose militiamen during the American revolution. Should this remain a separate cat or merge with American militiamen? Semper fi! - Nominator's rationale: Newly created category contains only 2 articles, only 1 of which is citied in the article. Gjs238 (talk) 14:53, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- KEEP The Mainichi Design Prize is one of the most prestigious design prizes globally and has been awarded since 1952. For example see John Maeda's page https://acg.media.mit.edu/people/maeda/ where he describes it as "Japan's highest honor the Mainichi Design Prize". I would expect each recipient to be notable enough to have their own article, hence the need for a category. Isoceles-sai (talk) 12:16, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- I would expect every recipiant to be notable irrespective of the award, and notability of the recipiants is not a criterion anyway, because all biographies in Wikipedia are about notable subjects. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:43, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

- Propose splitting Category:British North American Anglicans to Category:Colonial American Anglicans and Category:British North American Anglicans
- Nominator's rationale: Split between Colonial America and British North America categories. Most of these appear to be Colonial Americans pre-American Revolution; British North American was formed AFTER. Split between the two categories. Alternatively: Delete; majority of the people living in British North America and Colonial America were Anglicans so its WP:NONDEF (I prefer this but wasn't sure -- so two options).
