File:Breaking Bad Felina Death.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by NegativeMP1 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Just like with all the other times an image like this has been added to this article, there is no critical commentary about this image as such, it is not used for educational purposes, it is decorative, and it fails WP:NFCC. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 06:30, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how it "falls under decorative use" and I didn't see any instances of it being uploaded in the recent past. I even said before I added it that I was going to do it in an active chat over at WP:DISCORD and nothing was said about that. I don't care enough to debate this though, I'll remove it from the article. NegativeMP1 06:56, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@NegativeMP1: "This is a pivotal scene" is not acceptable fair use. Did you see ((Infobox television episode))? For the image field, it says (emphasis added): "typically if it is required to illustrate a crucial element of the episode that is the object of explicit, sourced analytical commentary and where that commentary is in genuine need of visual support." How is the commentary on Walt dying in need of this image? What is it about the text that is not clear and requires this particular image? Did you read WP:NFCC? I have no clue why anyone would use Discord at all, but I cannot stress enough that you should not use that as some kind of barometer of what is acceptable here: you should read policies, guidelines, and template instructions. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 07:27, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've already accepted that all, but I wasn't using Discord as a justification? I've literally read policies and guidelines, and a template is usually the last place I check. Also why would you put the image back in the article after I accepted the image was bad and removed it?NegativeMP1 07:31, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because all I saw in your edit summary was "ffs", which is not helpful and doesn't explain anything. Why do you think that's a useful edit summary that explains your edits? It's all very confounding to me. The image should stay in the article for the time being for others to see what it is and how it's used. Maybe, somehow, others will think it should be kept. If you want to pre-empt that, don't just remove it from the article and orphan non-free media, but give a useful edit summary and tag the image as ((db-author)), which is the G7 criterion for deletion. I appreciate your work here and that you're evidently reaching out to others for context, but the method you used is also very confusing to me and seems highly prone to error. I'd recommend that if you have a policy question that you ask it on something that is not ephemeral like a chat room.

Justin (koavf)TCM 08:40, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will say now that someone restored the image and added actual critical commentary to back it up. So while I will admit I didn't add it with the commentary, making it infact a violation, I think the image is good now since there's actually sources that prove its discussion (keep). Also apologies for the "for fucks sake" edit summary, I was having a rough night overall and was pissed in general. NegativeMP1 15:32, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: In my experience, people tend to use Discord because they can ask questions about a policy or guideline without looking bad publicly in a way that's permanently recorded and associated with them. jp×g 08:33, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's really unfortunate: it sounds like we're not making it a welcoming place to ask questions. Going to a chat service to ask questions of whomever happens to be around and getting misinformation is not helpful for anyone. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 08:40, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
