@Ixfd64: I doubt that, considering the caption on the article it is being used on has the caption "An Internet Explorer 7 style theme: Vista Aero applied to Firefox 3 on Windows Vista.". This essentially eliminates any de minimis argument since the theme is the focal point of the image, not an unwanted unavoidable part of the screenshot. It seems doubtful to me that a copyright on the Windows Aero theme applies to, if I'm seeing this correctly, a user-made theme for Firefox which resembles the default window theme in Microsoft Windows. Perhaps there is some encumbrance that prevents us from releasing an operating system whose interface looks like this, but it seems quite doubtful there is any encumbrance on us hosting a screenshot of such. jp×g 09:00, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I never said that this was a copyright the Windows Aero theme applies to, I am saying that the author of the Firefox extension has their own copyright on the theme. Ah, I see what you mean. This makes more sense. Following that link, though, it says in the release notes Version 3.0.0.91 May 23, 2010 1.1 MB Source Code License Mozilla Public License, version 1.1 -- our infobox for the Mozilla Public License says it's FSF, OSI and GPL compatible (although 1.1 isn't).
