One of the main points of this meeting is to set up a New Zealand user group; hence Wikipedians outside of Christchurch may have an interest in the meeting, too.
Date:Wednesday, 29 May 2019 Time: 6:00 pm onwards Location:Smash Palace, 172 High St, Christchurch
We'll be camped out in a corner of their ground floor room and have a row of tables for us. We can also use their projector and they will provide us with WiFi.
The NZ Wikipedian at Large is based in Christchurch until 9 June, and then he heads up to Nelson. There is a talk on What Wikipedia Means for Libraries and Archives on Wed 5 June, another talk on the UC campus called From Popper to Ruby Jones: image copyrights in the age of Wikipedia, wikidrinks at Space Academy on Friday, 7 June, and the Getting New Zealand Writers into Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Saturday, 8 June: see upcoming events for details.
Setting up a NZ Wikipedia User Group: the relatively trivial steps required to get the user group started. Let's do this! Be in touch if you'd like to join remotely (e.g. Skype or online).
Upcoming workshop: "How to get NZ Writers into Wikipedia" on Saturday, 8 June; who's coming? Who can help?
