• Comment I can sorta see the case for a disambiguation page here:
  1. Sources about Ōchō are academic ones and always use correct diacritics; to put it another way, Ōchō is not the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT by usage for "Ocho" without diacritics.
  2. Other Japanese era names like Bunpō or Tokuji get somewhat fewer views than Ōchō [1]; I suspect many of the "excess" viewers are looking for a dicdef of Spanish ocho.
  3. A bit WP:IAR, but a dab page is better than stuffing up Ōchō with a bunch of hatnotes for minor pop culture stuff, and it also gives us a convenient place to hang a ((wiktionary)) link and/or a "See also" link to 8.

Other than the character mentioned by nom, there's songs called "Ocho" on the albums Grass 2 Grace and Un Corazón de Nadie, and a Mount Ōchō in Okuetsu Kōgen Prefectural Natural Park. Cheers, 59.149.124.29 (talk) 04:36, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

• Dabify. Agreeing with 59.149.124.29 that the era isn't likely to be the primary topic of the diacriticless title, and being an especially brief period among hundreds of Japanese eras makes it quite obscure. I've drafted a dab below the redirect based on the suggestions so far, but I haven't included any of the songs: I don't generally feel that there should be dab entries for songs that are only mentioned in the corresponding album articles, unless we can provide more content about the song other than its name and track number. That's just my opinion though, and I wouldn't object if these entries are added. – Uanfala 12:29, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
