A fairly blunt Scotsman describes me rather well. I don't tend to sugarcoat things but tend to give you a straightforward answer. I've been concerned for some time that the interaction between new editors and established editors is driving away new editors. Hence, thought about joining as a host for a while. If you're wondering about the quote, one of my personal thoughts on wikipedia is that our most important policy is WP:NPOV. When we cut to the core of issues and describe issues neutrally, it takes away all the self-justification that ardent nationalists use to justify inate prejudice. Sadly many such people simply see wikipedia as a platform to proselytise those same beliefs.

I write about interior designers and interior design and I've been reading a lot about Wikipedia's dispute resolution policies. I've also been through the AfC process, with several hiccups and hurdles, which I eventually managed to overcome and have an article moved to the mainspace. I'm a fairly new user but I feel like I've been through several key processes of editing and am happy to help with these basic areas.

Bit of a WikiGnome, TheSandDoctor spends most of his time under a mushroom feeling like he is trapped in a ceramic body. That aside, he works all over the project, helping out wherever possible. TSD works a lot with Articles for Creation and is willing to lend a hand when possible. Additionally, TheSandDoctor runs a bot, called TweetCiteBot, which fixes specific citation errors in articles. I love to be a part of this wonderful project I have been editing Wikipedia for such a long time thus I love to use my experience and help others to grow our family more bigger.
Hi everybody! I try to improve Wikipedia overall in the best way possible, doing various tasks. Some of the most common are creating/expanding articles related to animals, participating in community discussions, reverting vandalism, and patrolling Special:NewPagesFeed. I am very familiar with wiki-text in general, so that's something I can definitely help out with, but some Wikipedia-exclusive templates I may not be as familiar with. Oh, and I love to edit wikis!
The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. —Sun Tzu
I love editing (when I have time - you all know how cruel the time can be, especially when you are working on Ph.D., personal life) in certain areas if my interest (Arts - I have 6 years of studies, some still rolling on, but Biology and Chemistry as well). I have created several pages, improved more. They are all listed on my User Page.
Countless times new Wikipedians come to our door like we used to Christmas Eve, sing a song, get a few apples and nuts. While reviewing articles, I can spot in a second if that article if untouched will vanish. But when I have time editing... instead of randomly edit articles, I like to improve the chances of articles with potential to have a… chance. SO, After the usual copyvio test, the common issues are, as you know, terrible grammar, no sources at all, a phrase article, etc. OK all these can be fixed my us, the editor. However, my ultimate test is finding reliable referenced (since most articles submitted by beginners gets deleted for that). Than, I feel like the topic has enough coverage... instead of just simply tag it for Speedy Deletion (which I reserve for total hoaxes or those "leading companies" with references from blogspot.com) I start gathering reliable reference, sort them by type and voila. I (and many other editors) saved an article. Oviously this is not always the case.
I work in IT, and therefore naturally gravitate towards the more technical aspects of Wikipedia: bots, templates, wiki-markup, the MediaWiki software that underlies the project, et cetera. I'll try and help out anywhere I can, but these are my specialisms. (Note: I have an open global username change request, if and when it is approved I will update this section accordingly. I will also have a note in my signature for a while after the change)
The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be. —Douglas Adams
My passions and interests include Western art and music, Major League Baseball, comedy, Hollywood, and modern American politics. Aside from my contributions to article content, I’m also a prolific vandalism fighter as a member of the Counter-Vandalism Unit.
