Hello. I need help in getting a page for Merging Technologies. Merging Technologies is a rather well known manufacturer in the professional audio world, mainly in classical music and jazz. Even if not as big as many other companies in this field, Merging and it's products are used by professionals all over the world. For example here is a review on the renowned Sound On Sound magazine, with a review of our latest product: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/merging-anubis-music-mission
So I would need help with getting the article written properly because I have been trying for many years and the page ends up being deleted. Is it possible to have help from an editor for this? Here is the draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Merging_Technologies
@Nicowiki~enwiki: We need to start with WP:DISCLOSE. Next, to allow the draft to be accepted, we need to see WP:THREE reliable sources with significant coverage of the company. The sources you list above are good but they are about products, not the company and they don't necessarily demonstrate the notability of the company (see WP:INHERIT). ~Kvng (talk) 14:17, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Nicowiki~enwiki, the Ravenna article is not a reliable source because it is not WP:INDEPENDENT (Merging is a Ravenna licensee). The other two are good and normally only two are required but we're going to have to go above and beyond in this case given the WP:COI. Please do provide one more.
Mentions in other Wikipedia articles is a good informal indication of notability but doesn't usually carry much weight with AfC reviewers or in deletion discussions. ~Kvng (talk) 00:21, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kvng: Hi Kvng, can you please review the last link I furnished in my reply above? The draft was deleted again on May 1st due to inactivity. I have asked for un-deletion [[5]]. We have recently started collaborating with Lawo, here is a fresh article that speaks of Merging Technologies in relation with Lawo: https://lawo.com/lawo-welcomes-merging-technologies-as-first-among-home-equals/. Hopefully this helps a bit more; as the title says, please help me get an article for Merging Technologies.
@Nicowiki~enwiki: please WP:PING me again when the draft has been restored and you've added any new sources and I'll have a look. ~Kvng (talk) 17:22, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kvng: Hi Kvng, for closure of this question, can you please let me know here if the aes.org source is not accepted and why? You mentioned above about sources furnished: "The other two are good and normally only two are required but we're going to have to go above and beyond in this case", and I've furnished the aes.org link (https://www.aes.org/events/145/presenters/?ID=7812) that is WP:INDEPENDENT. Is this not enough still?
We are not clearly over the hump here. An WP:AFD discussion would provide a definitive answer. Normally I'd say, let's accept it and see what happens but since there's a COI in play here, I don't think that's a good idea. ~Kvng (talk) 13:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we need to see WP:INDEPENDENT sources and none of these write ups has a byline. Trade publications do frequently publish press releases with minimal editorial review and thus no byline and many Wikipedia editors do not consider this to be independent reporting. Certainly an addition to Georg Neumann should be welcome and once that material has been added we can create a Merging TechnologiesWP:REDIRECT to help readers find it. And/or we can wait until there is more independent coverage of the acquisition and finish the article then. ~Kvng (talk) 19:12, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Screening team for the new Wikimedia sound logo[edit]
Hello WikiProject Professional sound production,
The Wikimedia sound logo contest is progressing and as we get ready to launch in September, we are looking for a few volunteers to help with screening contest entries. Please let us know on our talk page or get directly in touch with me if you are interested. There are also other ways for community members to get involved and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. VGrigas (WMF) (talk) 19:06, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are the stats in the "Professional sound production articles by quality and importance" grid on the Project page out-of-date, or am I interpreting what I'm seeing incorrectly? synthfiend (talk) 13:10, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It does lag by a few days. Looks reasonable in a spot check. What problems are you seeing? ~Kvng (talk) 15:32, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello!
I'm new to Wikipedia and am running into trouble editing this page. It definitely needs a lot of work but people seemed to take issue with the additions I had made so far. Can someone take a look at the talk page and let me know what changes I can make?
thanks, --JonNotJohn (talk) 18:15, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One of your project's articles has been selected for improvement![edit]
Hello, Please note that Audio editing software, which is within this project's scope, has been selected as one of the Articles for improvement. Everyone is encouraged to collaborate to improve the article. Thanks, and happy editing! Delivered by — MusikBottalk 00:05, 15 May 2023 (UTC) on behalf of the AFI team[reply]
((Audio formats)) has more red links than blue. I doubt many of these articles will ever get written and if the do they may be subject to deletion on notability grounds. Perhaps some of these topics are mentioned in other articles or should be removed from the template. ~Kvng (talk) 14:32, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
