Yan Cheshmeh (Persian: يان چشمه)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Sheyda District, Ben County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.[4] It is populated by Turkic people.[5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,244 in 564 households, when it was a village in Zayandeh Rud-e Jonubi Rural District of the former Ben District of Shahrekord County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,230 people in 671 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,190 people in 695 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Ben County.[4] Yan Cheshmeh had been transferred to Sheyda Rural District, where the village was its most populous.[2]
In 2019, the village was elevated to the status of a city.[8]
