Zand District (Persian: بخش زند) is in Malayer County, Hamadan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Zangeneh (formerly Zanganeh-ye Olya).[3] It is the namesake of the Zand dynasty.[citation needed]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 14,426 in 3,695 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 12,180 people in 3,776 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 10,019 inhabitants in 3,400 households.[2]
