Arkia was one of the Engineering and technology good articles, but it has been removed from the list. There are suggestions below for improving the article to meet the good article criteria. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.
In the lead, it states that Sde Dov is a hub, in the infobox it states that Ben Gurion is the hub and that Sde Dov is a focus city - the focus city article states that "a focus city is a location that is not a hub". So a conflict of information to be resolved.
"As a result, El Al, Israel's national airline, fulfiling the international demand, founded the airline ..." - I don't think the "fulfiling the international demand" is required.
Another comment, the infobox says founded in 1949, the text says "Arkia's started operations in 1950..." and then "(El Al)...founded the airline as a subsidiary with flights starting the following year..." (presumably 1951). I'm confused about this, so I'm sure others would be too. Can you clarify the situation? The Rambling Man12:25, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK - I see your point - I got a bit confused there - i think the airline was founded in 1949 by El Al and started operating in 1950 - anyway - this is now cleared up --Flymeoutofhere12:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The primary problem with this article is the structure. Per WP:LEAD the lead is to be a summary of the article, the lead in this article is the body of the text. The main information should be listed after the lead with the lead just summarizing the information.
A secondary problem are the references, Refs [2], [3], and [9] are dead links. This is 1/3 of the references. Also I've added a [citation needed] template to the end of the section on Destinations since this is unreferenced.
To fix the article will require a complete reorganization of the article along with a rewrite of the lead to better summarize the article. The information will need to be broken down into sections so that the article is better formatted and complies with MOS. Citation will need to be found for the Destinations section and references will need to be fixed. Due to the amount of work to be done I will delist the article from GA currently and recommend that work be done and then the article nominated at WP:GAC. I've reverted this [1] last edit. It again added incorrect information and also had a misleading edit summary since the reference provided had nothing to do with Flightglobal. Furthermore, the source provided mentions the ″A320neo″. The airline had just signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for a possible acquisition of A330s. This is not a firm order yet.--JetstreamerTalk21:29, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/4x-agn shows is that Arkia operates an A321 with registration 4X-CGN. This source does not state how many A321s are in the fleet. As for the other reference, it shows that the aircraft is under private operations, there are no mentions to Arkia. The article has been protected precisely to avoid the indiscriminate introduction of such information.--JetstreamerTalk21:32, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
