Attention needed to this article[edit]

I understand that sections of I-69 in Indiana are under construction, and that there has been some controversy about the extension, but this article needs several issues addressed. I've outlined them below. Until they're fixed, this article can't be upgraded to B-Class. Imzadi 1979  19:48, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Construction sequence table[edit]

Plain and simple, no high-quality highway article in the US has such a table. Interstate 68, Interstate 70 in Colorado, Interstate 70 in Utah, Interstate 355 are four Featured Articles on Interstate Highways, and they have prose-only history sections. Imzadi 1979  22:35, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I-69 was originally constructed in sections, with each section containing one or more individual projects. The table below lists each section using the most current reference post data, and as such the mileage totals may vary slightly from what was reported at the time of completion (due to overlapping project boundaries, structure locations, temporary connections, and other factors).

Mileage[edit]

The table says exit 200 is 200 miles away. But just above the table there's a brief statement that implies exit 200 will in fact be only 183 miles away. What does this mean?? Georgia guy (talk) 20:14, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I-69 along I-465[edit]

I would suggest that we should make I-69 along the I-465 beltway to I-65 or US 31. It would be unsigned, though. I think that this would imply for people researching on the route of I-69 on wikipedia, saying that I-69 will run on the beltway. -EBGaming (December 25, 2015, Christmas Day) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.170.220.27 (talk) 17:03, 25 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, not until INDOT signs it. Anything else would be speculation until they do so. Imzadi 1979  18:35, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think Interstate 164 should be merged into here since its entirety was replaced by I-69. Needforspeed888 (talk) 14:48, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, a section of I-164 wasn't replaced by I-69. Imzadi 1979  01:55, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Where did I-164 end? Currently, the article says it was at US 41 and Veterans Memorial Parkway. Needforspeed888 (talk) 02:09, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This page is meant to be a reference to a former highway called Interstate 164, not to what the highway is now, as a section of the incomplete Interstate 69 within Indiana. In the future at some point, I-69 will also surplant a section of I-469 as well as a large section of Indiana 37. Imzadi is correct in that when the Ohio River Crossing does get complete, the Interstate will no longer cover this entire road; the last approximately 2.5 miles between the crossing and US 41 is expected to become a new spur to be named, perhaps even including Veteran's Parkway. At that point this former route will become two different routes.
It would make more sense for the information about this highway to be merged into the article about that highway when it is established. Snoopy26Z (talk) 03:57, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The history of I-164 (and infobox) could be integrated into the history of I-69 and whatever they decide to name the remaining spur as Snoopy26Z suggested. But I'm inclined to vote against merging, as there are also pages for former routes that have been integrated into newer highways, such as New York State Route 47, which has since become part of Interstate 390, New York State Route 390, Interstate 590, and New York State Route 590.--WuTang94 (talk) 02:25, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shorten page[edit]

This article seems long. Is it considered too long where users have a hard time reading it comfortably? Just wondering Cwater1 (talk) 02:56, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article has 50,744 characters and 7,843 words of prose, so it's not particularly long. Since the southern part has been under construction for ten years or so, there have been a lot of updates, and some stuff that seemed important at the time needs to be shortened. However, it might be better to wait until the construction is completed in 2024 and the article is more stable. Indyguy (talk) 04:06, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. Thank you. I may help with the cleanup of article then depending on if I'm still contributing to Wikipedia then and if I get time. I do see your point on what you said. Cwater1 (talk) 03:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Possible inclusion of Robinson Creek bridge rebuild[edit]

In order to avoid adding something that may be not notable enough to include, I thought I'd bring it up here first. This article talks about how the bridge over Robinson Creek in Allen County is being completely torn down and rebuilt. Is this noteworthy enough to add? ChessEric 16:54, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't look like this bridge reconstruction is a significant upgrade in capacity for the highway. If we list it, we'd need to list every other bridge reconstruction that has occurred. Indyguy (talk) 18:47, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I thought so. Thank you for your input. ChessEric 18:50, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

NB I-69 merge into I 465E along with Harding St[edit]

As far as I can tell the exit ramp for I465EB onto exit 4 Harding St (current SR37) has already moved to be well before the merge from future I69N. The new ramp goes parallel to the mainline for about a mile. I'm pretty sure the only way to Harding St. from I-69N will be to exit at Epler Ave.

That being said, I-69 is obviously not open yet, so I am fine leaving the revert until I-69 is actually designated on the loop. KelleyCook (talk) 01:43, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
