Before she became "anonymous," this lady was in the news for several years, including with photos. Thus, this article could be expanded.Ryoung122 19:52, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

A 113-year-old woman from the southern island of Okinawa, whose name was not disclosed, holds the national title. Though her daily activities require assistance, she enjoys going outside in a wheelchair with a nurse, the ministry said.

Please keep the article this time. 74.226.167.124 (talk) 23:01, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Why is it that she is so little-known? There are very few photos of her and none are of good quality. I thought her fame would have increased in the wake of Gertrude Baines' death. 218.186.12.225 (talk) 11:07, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Why does her name sound similar to Chinan (this isn't really a word; the proper demonym is Chinese) but she lives in Japan?? Georgia guy (talk) 14:47, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
It should be noted that "Chinen" is a common surname in Okinawa, and in fact, it is one of a number of surnames which is common in Okinawa but uncommon everywhere else. 128.2.251.171 (talk) 19:06, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Would it be worth mentioning that ever since Chiyo Shiraishi's death she is the last remaining 1895-born in Japan? 218.186.12.250 (talk) 09:43, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Not only that, she is the only 1895-born Asian left. And before Maggie Renfro's death on Friday (22 Jan), she was the only Japanese in the 10 oldest living people. But no, I don't think it's notable enough to be added properly to the article. Brendanology 12:56, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
has Kama Chinen died???--Del Boy (talk) 17:55, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
WHY do some people enjoy vandalising Chinen's page? Admittedly she's not very well known, so people often like to imagine things about her to make things more interesting. I've lost count of how many people have added a death date for her or added nonsense to her article. PLEASE STOP. BrendanologyContriB 11:43, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
to count, check the history. 65.0.27.97 (talk) 22:20, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Dr. Coles is reporting that the Daily Yomiuri newspaper confirmed that Kama Chinen died May 2, 2010 at 2:40PM (Okinawa time). I have not yet seen a news report.Ryoung122 15:27, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
whaaaat? this close to her 115th birthday? :(--72.129.61.113 (talk) 23:44, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
kama chinen died 1 year ago today :(, RIP. Tony (talk) 11:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
This article says she is the oldest person ever from Okinawa. That is quite something, given that people in Okinawa - as detailed in the book "The Okinawa Way" - typically have a very long life expectancy". ACEOREVIVED (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
