There is no connection or similarity between the USMC Harvest Hawk and the USSOCOM/AFSOC Dragon Spear or AC-130J programs. The articles stating that Dragon Spear copied Harvest Hawk are wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.140.153.67 (talk • contribs) 20:46, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
It needs more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.78.40.243 (talk) 03:56, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
First and foremost, I have very limited experience editing wikipedia (I've only really edited articles in order to fix grammar and punctuation), so if I mess anything up here, lemme know.
The image at the top shows the AC-130 deploying flares. To the untrained eye, those flares could be mistaken for missiles or other weapons. This might mislead people to think that this is how the AC-130 fights, despite the caption specifying otherwise. Perhaps it would be better to replace this image with another image of the AC-130 in flight as it would eliminate any chance of confusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OddTetrapod (talk • contribs) 20:24, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Can we add in discussion of how the AC-130U came to be? The AC-130W's story is in the article and understandable but creation of the AC-130H and how it went from AC-130H to AC-130U isn't really discussed. Same for how the AC-130J came to be, like what were the operational requirements that spurred its creation? I'm not much of an aircraft buff and couldn't find much doing cursory searches so I hope others could help with this. Thanks. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 23:26, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Can we take the time to appreciate that this thing is a gunship on steroids? SovimericanKAISAR (talk) 16:03, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
