The content in this article can be summarized in a few points:
Muffins may be made with poppyseeds
The culinary use of poppyseeds has certain legal and pharmacological implications in various jurisdictions
One of the most common ways poppyseeds are eaten in the United States is in muffins
The first point is a fairly simple fact that can be included in the muffin article. That that article has no mention of, or link to, poppyseed muffin suggests that this is not a type of muffin that is substantially more notable than any other, to the extent that it warrants its own article, nor does the article appear to have much potential for expansion. The second point is not specific to the muffin and can be discussed in poppy seed in a more objective, generalized manner. On the third point, this article hangs its claim to notability, which means this article has an inherent systemic bias. Merging this content to muffin and poppy seed, with links between the two, will allow a less biased and more encyclopedic treatment of this topic. Ibadibam (talk) 17:07, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Merge Agree, the effects of poppy seed are relevant to that ingredient, and this is otherwise a variation of Muffin. Group29 (talk) 14:42, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Merge. Very little of the content on this page describes poppyseed muffins in particular. The first paragraph of history is about muffins generally. The rest of the page discusses poppy seeds generally. If more relevant content is found, this page can always be split off again. BenKuykendall (talk) 18:01, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Merge This is definitely a non-notable variant of the standard sweet muffin cake. If anthing was to be split off, it should be sweet muffin cakes, and flat muffin breads ... Chaosdruid (talk) 15:02, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
